? Literally everything pushed people in the past to have more kids, at least in civilised western society
infanticide is the norm
Many cultures did in fact. Yeah.
But low age of female marriage was also pretty consistent.
Girls in ancient Greece would be married about 14-16.
Mesopotamian girls could marry from either 12 or 14.
Rome had a minimum of 12 years old but that was uncommon.
Usually late teens.
why are you fixated on bronze age southern europe
since people can start reproducing at the age of 13, it makes sense why some cultures have the age of consent that low
Mohammed touched that 9 year old butt remember? <:hypersmugon:544638648721604608>
Would be a valid question if I'd even mentioned a bronze age european civilisation.
Is this another commie?
Ancient Greece refers to the Iron Age period.
Rome didn't even *exist* in the Bronze Age.
@Nat no
Ah okay
I am a National Bolshevist
Its an honest discussion on abortion that went into a weird side tangent
@Boop / 브파 / C'thUwU Yeah that's generally what I was driving at.
yeah sorry i meant iron age
Females can have children from a young age and most cultures went along with this.
Having many kids to counter-act child mortality.
And if populations grew too high, colonisation was always an option.
Colonisation and conquest.
@johl kohl im sorry sir but the Muslim Clintons will be sending a suicider to you shortly
Infanticide however is not something we today need to practice.
Which is why we don't.
sure we have abortion now
Except of course pre-emptive infanticide which makes even less sense than the historical practice.
colonization was not always an option
Because historically they could look at a newborn child and make a fairly accurate assessment as to whether it was going to live.
But a great many abortions are performed for no medical reason at all.
they also did it to keep the population from growing past what they could support
India practices infanticide...leaving new borns dead on the streat side is a common sight in some cities
I'd somewhat doubt that.
they are performed to get rid of unwanted pregnancies
Athens didn't produce enough food to support its population for generations.
I'm unaware of any population control abortions.
again why are you fixated on iron age europe
