Does guilt comes from the devil right?

2018-11-11 04:11:52 UTC

I believe so

2018-11-11 11:39:32 UTC

@cashd13 What do you mean by guilt?

2018-11-11 11:40:13 UTC

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, so that we will take it seriously and repent, if we have no conviction of our sin, it's the hallmark of a reprobate mind that is fully lost.

2018-11-11 11:41:34 UTC

if it's a guilt that you cannot get past even after repenting to God in Jesus' name and turning away from that sin/lifestyle, then yes, that would be torment to keep you in the past... give it all to Jesus He said come to Me all who are weary and heavy-burdened and I will give you rest. Another part of the Scripture says to cast all your cares upon Him who careth for you. ❤

As many as I might love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone should hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:19-20
But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. 1 Corinthians 11:32
Blessed is the man You discipline, O LORD, and teach from Your law, Psalm 94:12
For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and He chastises everyone He receives as a son.” Hebrews 12:6
I will be his Father, and he will be My son. When he does wrong, I will discipline him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 2 Samuel 7:14

etc etc

If you are struggling with guilt, something you have repented of and turned your back to but still feel guilty about, here are some verses:
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. John 3:17
God made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, Ephesians 1:7
“Come now, let us reason together,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they will be as white as snow; though they are as red as crimson, they will become like wool. Isaiah 1:18
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
For I will forgive their iniquities and will remember their sins no more.” Hebrews 8:12
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17

***As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:12***

2018-11-11 11:52:28 UTC

(North and South have an endpoint, East and West do not)

2018-11-11 14:19:08 UTC

Wow thanks 🙏🏻 that’s a great answer

2018-11-11 14:48:33 UTC

Did you like the song? Courageous is a pretty relevant song, re: JLP

2018-11-11 14:48:39 UTC

by them, Casting Crowns

2018-11-11 14:48:46 UTC

Courageous is about MANNING UP

2018-11-11 14:53:54 UTC
2018-11-11 14:54:38 UTC

How is it, that the Book of Psalms, written hundreds of years before the Birth of Christ, knew there was no endpoint between east and west?

2018-11-11 14:54:45 UTC

lots of little amazin things like that in scripture

2018-11-11 15:01:38 UTC

Wow I never noticed that

2018-11-11 15:03:16 UTC

To what extent is praying out loud in front of people and praying to yourself but using words work ?

2018-11-11 15:03:34 UTC

Not sure what you mean?

2018-11-11 15:03:51 UTC

Praying is very important, whether you do it out loud or silently

2018-11-11 15:04:10 UTC

we're told to pray unceasingly, most of my prayer is silent

2018-11-11 15:04:27 UTC

I pray with my family etc out loud, if someone asks me to pray with them, I pray out loud

2018-11-11 15:04:36 UTC

sometimes I pray outloud when I'm by myself

2018-11-11 15:05:57 UTC

I feel like a lot of the time people who pray out loud in prayer circles and stuff like that do it from pride

2018-11-11 15:08:06 UTC

Anything like that can have that potential, the Pharisees did it and the Lord rebuked them for it, though they would do it in the streets to look righteous, if it's a group of believers alone in a room, ya know, then it's less likely to be about pride

2018-11-11 15:08:09 UTC

but even then ya know

2018-11-11 15:08:27 UTC

i'm gonna REALLY lay the sauce on to impress this pretty girl I'm holding hands with etc

2018-11-11 15:08:38 UTC

the enemy will tempt us in any way he/they can tempt us

2018-11-11 15:08:48 UTC

so we need to keep a tight reign on our heart and tongue

2018-11-11 15:13:33 UTC

I just feel like the same voice that Jesse says is the devil is the one that is praying you know the voice you talk to yourself with

2018-11-11 15:17:20 UTC

It is possible to have your inner voices confounded, it's true

2018-11-11 15:17:38 UTC

it helps demons implant thoughts too, and make you think it was your own thought

2018-11-11 15:18:11 UTC

come against it in prayer in Jesus' name, rebuke it in Jesus name

2018-11-11 15:18:39 UTC

stay true to the Gospel, it is really really important to stay close to the Word, the Bible itself is a miracle and the primary way God speaks to His people

2018-11-11 15:19:03 UTC

Jesus used the Scripture against the devil in the wilderness, as a lesson to us

2018-11-11 15:19:19 UTC

in Ephesians 6 the Scripture is called the SWORD of the SPIRIT
