AFAIK, the Defense Budget is bloated as fuck
and SHOULD be slashed if it helps with decreasing poverty or hunger
@pwtdo When she gets older they will change their minds
Oh look, an Article about two made up things

Take that Bigfoot! Nessy is next~
@SPOOKY Phil, Ruler of Heck 652 billion is pennies in the bucket and the fact you think it should be slashed is just ignorant.
Of our 4.5 trillion dollar yearly expenditure defense comes to about 12-13%~ of our yearly expenditure. Medicare, Medicaid and social security make up a little over 3.5 trillion. Of that 652 billion a little under half is spent on non-military things, such as federal fire departments, veterans affairs, department of homeland security, cbp, etc.
one thing to remember when talking about the budget is that the left routinely conflates the *discretionary budget* with total government spending.
doing so completely omits virtually all social spending from the discussion, and magnifies defense spending to seem like virtually all money is spent on it.
We should strive to eliminate all waste and smaller targets are generally easier to hit
Big foot will adapt or die like ever species that has ever exististed has
the left wants you to see this:

when actually it is this:

(note that interest on the debt is almost the same as defense spending)
Our military spending is bloated
We just need to conquer some rich nation to pay it off
Maybe we SHOULDN’T be fighting in the ME
Put that money to better use
Such as infrastructure
I agree we need to rather permanently occupy, annex or just leave it alone
If the entire military budget was eliminated, as in every last soldier laid off, every base closed, every procurement program cancelled, we'd still have a deficit of over $100B/year.
Plus a ton of people would be out of work
Its funny that graphic is hilariously inaccurate and has no sources other than "our institue said so" gtfoh
Alright neocon <:tiptip:462282246695419934>
Heaven forbid we even decrease military spending by 1-2%
It might even be the end of the world
Heaven forbid we leave the Middle East
Conquer a rich country to pay it off? Modern warfare has a way of leveling cities, turning infrastructure into ruins and children into orphans
But hey, fuck it, the idea of dismantling nations sounds fun
Even if it costs us
The sounds of machine gun fire, a nation cries out in pain as it’s snuffed out but artillery fire
its a joke
@Doomed world Wolf Blitzer disagrees
Imagine calling someone a neocon because they think you are wrong about something one can in fact argue against war in the middle east AND maintaining current readiness without being a neocon.
1-2% is negligible as far as a cut goes and if it truly was "bloated" you would be asking for a larger cut, fucking hack.
Nice
@Doomed world Ye Ik I just wanted to explain the sounds of war b/c I was daydreaming
I mean war is pretty good for creating economic miracles
WW II did pull us out of the depression
Which was extended by Roosevelt and the failure that is progressivism
