Honestly, I understand it as a heuristic, but I've come to see the whole "demographics as destiny" thing as being kinda racist, and not in the SJW REEEE EVERYTHING IS RACIST, MATH IS RACIST way, I mean just plain old dictionary racism, as it presumes a person's identity is deterministic of their ideology when we have examples to the contrary. The point is that term limits take the decision to step down out of the incumbents hands, how much biased support do you think a lifetime president has when they've ran a country by giving positions to friends. What's a good country without term limits?

I think demographics are important in terms of where to focus attention, but doesn't say anything meaningful about individuals and thus can't be the basis of policy
