Lmao

2019-11-15 09:42:38 UTC

the punchline is that people still ask the gov to build services for them <:mutt:462285123421732874>

2019-11-15 09:42:49 UTC

First we crush Labour, then we crush Libdems, after that we introduce guns to the UK again and we shall be freeeeee

2019-11-15 09:43:47 UTC

The UK doesn't need guns

2019-11-15 09:43:53 UTC

Yes it does.

2019-11-15 09:43:55 UTC

Would rather not copy the Americans with that regard

2019-11-15 09:44:07 UTC

How would it? We'd impliment it differently

2019-11-15 09:44:22 UTC

Along with the fact we'd do a far better job at vetting potential gun owners.

2019-11-15 09:44:22 UTC

There is a lot more that needs to be fixed

2019-11-15 09:44:40 UTC

You'd still end up with unintended consequences

2019-11-15 09:44:56 UTC

The UK really doesnt need widespread gun ownership

2019-11-15 09:45:01 UTC

Freedom comes with a price. Freedom has inherent danger along with it.

2019-11-15 09:45:12 UTC

You don't need guns though

2019-11-15 09:45:18 UTC

But I guess big scaaaary guns

2019-11-15 09:45:37 UTC

I'd rather defend my home with a firearm than a bat, thanks

2019-11-15 09:45:43 UTC

Against what

2019-11-15 09:45:48 UTC

need to unfuck the populace first tbh.

2019-11-15 09:45:51 UTC

You'd be locked up for using it

2019-11-15 09:45:53 UTC

Intruders

2019-11-15 09:46:02 UTC

Unless you were shooting someone else with a gun

2019-11-15 09:46:10 UTC

Lmao that's why you change the laws to allow people to use a firearm in self defence

2019-11-15 09:46:22 UTC

Good luck getting self defensr laws

2019-11-15 09:46:35 UTC

You'd need to get them to allow disproportionate defence

2019-11-15 09:46:38 UTC

It's something that needs to be pushed as it is

2019-11-15 09:47:00 UTC

Does it really though

2019-11-15 09:47:04 UTC

Yes

2019-11-15 09:47:25 UTC

Like the Americans have this wrong, don't think burglary makes your life void

2019-11-15 09:47:52 UTC

If they can get out, they're safe <:smugon:512048583806025739>

2019-11-15 09:48:10 UTC

'defence'

2019-11-15 09:48:12 UTC

In the house, they're a danger to more than one life. So, tata negro

2019-11-15 09:48:36 UTC

Also, you can most certainly use a proportional defence law with firearms.

2019-11-15 09:48:45 UTC

Maine has one and its effective

2019-11-15 09:48:55 UTC

I.e you can't shoot a man in the back

2019-11-15 09:49:24 UTC

If the man is on your property but not in your house, you may not use deadly force

2019-11-15 09:49:49 UTC

I don’t like the idea of our knife crime epidemic to become a gun crime epidemic.
We will have to get that out of the way first

2019-11-15 09:49:56 UTC

You can't set your dogs on an intrudor either

2019-11-15 09:50:04 UTC

Yeah, but it won't

2019-11-15 09:50:14 UTC

It's a violent crime issue, not a tool issue

2019-11-15 09:50:29 UTC

And it's an issue with incompatible cultures and gangs

2019-11-15 09:52:05 UTC

Guns can be tracked via their serial numbers, and you can work out from the ballistic damage what kind of gun was used, how close it was used and finding the suspect, linking them to the firearm isn't difficult either. Hence why gangs in the US use illegally acquired firearms.

2019-11-15 09:53:50 UTC

Said guns are often stolen or smuggled across the border from Mexico. As we don't have a land border to smuggle across, it'll be far harder to get your hands on illegal guns. Not to say it isn't possible as we have seen, but it's not as easy as the US.
