@TriHelix Actually the most worrying part about Death Stranding is probably the "constantly online" part. Does it work disconnected from the net? Many features surely don't make sense without the net (like building bridges, etc.)... but on the other hand most players (of any game) are retards, so you'd probably want to play alone anyway (since all the wasteland is filled by "funny" smiley markers left by other players).

I don't really get all the people who thought NieR: Automata's ending is so awesome it justifies forcing online connectivity to the game. It's really nothing but a communist virtue signal to work without pay to help others.

Simpler than that, always online only is a cancer that prevents you from playing wholly owning the game and in some cases even from playing it like you want to

We knew they were dabbling with it with the VR lab code they "accidentally" leaked some test stuff in

Only real question was if they had to abandon it or not

Answer seems to be they didn't

HL1 was *not* a tech-demo

and the most tech-demoing that HL2 did was for the physics system

and even then, the game itself isn't considered to be tech-demo

It's fucking season pass, just think rocket league, or whatever...
