I am disabled, and I think I would smoke my old self in everything but running. My hip doesnt like running anymore lol. I was 21 then, now 39. I
@Deleted User one of them was 15-months, they told us were extended while out there
back in the surge
At this point, with all the lifting and cardio exercise at my job, I’d just have to get back into running more, and I’d kill all the PT.
the Colonel said after telling us we're getting extended, "look at this way, thats 4 more months to f*** shit up, hooah!"
nobody was happy inside tho, we were fuming
@noobpocket look up the PT reqs for USMC and go kill it!
indeed but being a lumberjack might be more peaceful
God's plan will take its course
It is a lot more peaceful. I still wake up at 5 am everyday and get home after 4 pm. My job has a lot of freedoms. There’s nothing wrong with working within the lumber trade.
nothing at all if you're at perfect peace and happy
It’s honest work, but I wonder if I can be content with it.
I could see myself being in this company for a while.
I miss working with trees. My old boss is going to have me once in a while. I can't handle it too much. I can do a few days a week at most.
I live a mile away. The people I work with aren’t bad. They had to see my work ethic and consistency first but now they’ve warmed up considerably.
I have been starting my own businesses since I can't do much. I help a lot of sick people like myself getting herbs imported that have changed my life.
In this trade you have to earn respect through how you work, is what I’ve learned.
That’s a good calling @Choose Life !
I always wanted to help people. That is why I wanted to be a cop before. I feel better doing what I do now.
That’s the ticket, man. That’s an admirable thing. As long as you’re happy.
I do not have a lot of money, but I am happy. I have turned down offers, and quit other business I made to help people. I was not happy when I was living for money. God supplies all my needs 😃
@noobpocket If you have been seriously contemplating the military, know that you have a short window especially in USMC. I had seriously considered the military in my 20s but always gave other jobs a chance. I thought it was over when I hit my 30s. I am blessed and thankful God had that cap raised to give me a chance to serve.
@Choose Life Amen
I live a frugal lifestyle, too @Choose Life. I spend my money on food and sit on the rest.
Yeah, a very short window indeed @Deleted User.
That’s very inspirational!
Thanks for sharing that.
@noobpocket Absolutely! God gave me the opportunity to grow and be ready to serve the entire time and helped me get my affairs in order; be right with Him first.
Amen.
I just got audible. Do you guys know the name of any books Jesse wrote? I have a credit for a new book.
I don't think they have any. I typed his name in. I thought I seen a book he wrote once.
I found them, they just don't have audio versions
The Antidote: Healing America From the Poison of Hate, Blame, and Victimhood https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E4U24AK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_zy-QBbWBD9MD1
He doesn't have Audibles for his books.
I have trouble sitting around readong a book for some reason. I like to just listen laying in bed. I am in pain, and don't like sitting with a book too long
It was suggested to JLP about a month ago. Hopefully they are still pursuing it.
That would be Amaaaazin! lol
Any men here with a great reading voice?
