I'd be very, very cautious about the last bit of that advice. Finding someone on a rebound is a great way to mess that person up and then also push deeper into your own problem.

I'd strongly advise rather than finding another partner to help one with a breakup to first sort out your feelings and only pursue new relationship when it's not just merely filling a hole after the last one. It's much more fair toward the other person, too, when they're not merely substitute for your ex.

I am past the rebound thing at this point, it's just like and forgive me now, my fucking family was a fucking shit show, that when I friend of mine told the story of the reason while I can't stand the feeling of things clinging to me, the new gm at my hotel asked me if I was still in contact with my family, if I needed to vent or if the hotel needed to pay for me to get a therapist to help me unpack everything. And that only made me more uncomfortable.
