Amazon?

2019-09-28 17:01:30 UTC

@Settler's Lament yeah i didn’t pay attention in social studies

2019-09-28 17:03:32 UTC

I think the even weirder thing is the Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut are lib. They aren’t but they’re represented as such

2019-09-28 17:04:46 UTC

I used to live near greater bear lake and if it’s not good for the working people they don’t want to hear about it

2019-09-28 19:22:13 UTC

I really think the Libs are going to win again.

2019-09-28 20:10:55 UTC

@Wercal3 Yeah, that's what the polls say at least. I really don't see much difference between the Liberals and Conservatives on the important issues. I hope its a minority government on either side and the PPC gets at least 5% and the vote and they retain Maxime Bernier's seat.

2019-09-28 22:51:42 UTC

That’s all the ppc are gonna get if the even get in. All they can do is put The libs into a minority

2019-09-28 23:00:13 UTC

@Settler's Lament no offence to you video just a suggestion. Blankets on the walls is a good sound proofing technique. It just sounds like it’s 4 am and you’re not supposed to be playing call of duty cause it’s a school night

2019-09-28 23:03:09 UTC

Thanks, lol I can speak louder if that's what you mean.

2019-09-28 23:20:23 UTC

Anyone know what you get for being a member of the PPC? Like the year membership shit.

2019-09-29 00:02:44 UTC

Unlimited cheese curds

2019-09-29 00:51:52 UTC

Blow jobs at a market rate

2019-09-29 03:47:30 UTC

tax rebate

2019-09-29 06:26:48 UTC

>what is it to be canadian

2019-09-29 06:28:20 UTC

It is my personal belief that the only thing that makes someone who only knows canada and has no ties to any other culture 'canadian'

2019-09-29 06:28:21 UTC

is shame

2019-09-29 06:28:26 UTC

plain and simple

2019-09-29 06:30:25 UTC

that is what is taught in our schools, be ashamed of our past, deconstruct what is left of the old

2019-09-29 06:30:54 UTC

nothing that canada has done in the past will ever make up for our transgressions in the eyes of our people

2019-09-29 06:31:15 UTC

therefore it can never and will never be our shared history that bonds us

2019-09-29 06:31:22 UTC

but a shared sense of shame

2019-09-29 11:16:12 UTC

Although the schools do teach us to be ashamed of our past now that was not always the case

2019-09-29 11:17:00 UTC

I remember back when I was in school we learned about how the British brought civilization and modernity to the savage Indians

2019-09-29 11:26:02 UTC

How old are you lol

2019-09-29 15:30:40 UTC

I'm in my 30s

2019-09-29 15:40:21 UTC

@Some Fucking Leaf well it will be like that for the time being, I don't believe any nation can survive constantly at war with itself. I don't think I'll have much of a stake in what comes after either though.

2019-09-29 15:41:05 UTC

@Thejross Wow, that sounds pretty based for what the 90s? Did you live in a more conservative area?

2019-09-29 15:41:50 UTC

Ontario

2019-09-29 17:32:28 UTC

In Alberta we learned a lot about Canada bad, but I think that when you learn history looking at the bad can be good. How are we supposed to learn how to make good and just decisions. We should know when we did wrong. We should try and teach the glory and honour of our nation, but for schools should have the those who don’t learn from the past are bound to repeat it.

2019-09-29 17:34:33 UTC

We have hero’s that are unknown to our people like major Leo, and that saddens me greatly but history doesn’t get learnt in 14 years, the world is too vast for all the history to be known in such a short amount of time

2019-09-29 17:35:42 UTC

What I don’t like seeing is the liberal party or the conservative parties stamps in text books

2019-09-29 21:30:06 UTC

The schools that I was in used to teach very objectively, minimal narrative spinning if any

2019-09-29 21:30:46 UTC

Also back in the 90's

2019-09-29 21:31:29 UTC

Political conversations were about as open-minded as they could get, no one was shut down or shamed (I think)

2019-09-29 21:31:41 UTC

But that was in Austria

2019-09-29 22:22:01 UTC

We did learn plenty of positive things about Canada in a sense, just none of it was history. All of the positive things, and I mean all as in like 99%, were firmly in the progressive mold and posed in opposition to Americans 'free healthcare and peacekeeping.' The history was all negative, residential schools, Chinese immigrants, persons case and a million different things about racism.

2019-09-29 22:22:28 UTC

Plus, I was very often the only white kid in a class where we learnt all about all the awful things white people did.

2019-09-29 22:26:15 UTC

Overtly political division was actually a bit less then America though, I grew up hearing about how G.W. Bush was Hitler and all the awful stuff white people have done but, I never really heard much fear mongering about the Conservative Party in particular.

2019-09-29 23:20:18 UTC

Bush = Hitler? Wow, Hitler must've forgotten a lot of his lines
