and now look at how many nuclear disasters were stopped by competent workers
The state was consistently acting against the team trying to fix the disaster
A chernobyl type disaster would not happen here because we have safety regs
alot of people in tschernobyl died because the commies said "its not that bad" "we just cant let moscow find out"
It really did take Dr. Legasovs suicide to force a change
Rather, the scale would not be as devastating
and just send people in unprotected
didnt tell the people to evacuate
Chenpbyl would be impossible in American Type 4 reactors
"Lol, the air is just a bit spicy, Comrade. Get in there and help or off to Gulag"
-USSR
No one uses type 2 RBMK reactors anymore
it would be impossible in any other reactor even at that time
it was fucking commie tech
what do you expect they prob had a button to blow it up
Yeah graphite tipped control rods is a bad idea
PEople were a ressource to commies
Lol, Oops, I accidentally pressed the 'we're fucked' button, my bad guys
look at russian WW2 tanks
The soviets were seriously lax in their construction of reactors
notoriously horrible for the crews
they just send people in in masses to win
But you could manufacture them in a tractor factory if necessary
the only thing worse than a soviet reactor is a chinese reactor
and non of those have publicly exploded yet
Publically
maybe they just completed the cover up
unlike the soviets
also my parents are incredibly eco
they hate nuclear
asked them how they would fix the problem
they say wind and solar on every roof
Get better parents
like we would have to build new coal plants and shit to even produce all that stuff
germany is building new coal plants btw
glad we moved away from nuclear derp
most westerners live in places where there's not a lot of solar energy per square meter
also literally running out of space for wind power
they are considering chopping down forrests for wind farms
sure if you live in southern california or arizona or something solar makes a certain amount of sense as a supplementary source of power
but in new england? good luck making it break even.
