it would be impossible in any other reactor even at that time

2019-09-26 14:31:23 UTC

it was fucking commie tech

2019-09-26 14:31:35 UTC

what do you expect they prob had a button to blow it up

2019-09-26 14:31:57 UTC

Yeah graphite tipped control rods is a bad idea

2019-09-26 14:32:07 UTC

PEople were a ressource to commies

2019-09-26 14:32:09 UTC

Lol, Oops, I accidentally pressed the 'we're fucked' button, my bad guys

2019-09-26 14:32:12 UTC

look at russian WW2 tanks

2019-09-26 14:32:25 UTC

The soviets were seriously lax in their construction of reactors

2019-09-26 14:32:27 UTC

notoriously horrible for the crews

2019-09-26 14:32:33 UTC

Yeah

2019-09-26 14:32:33 UTC

they just send people in in masses to win

2019-09-26 14:32:57 UTC

But you could manufacture them in a tractor factory if necessary

2019-09-26 14:33:02 UTC

the only thing worse than a soviet reactor is a chinese reactor

2019-09-26 14:33:11 UTC

and non of those have publicly exploded yet

2019-09-26 14:33:21 UTC

Publically

2019-09-26 14:33:24 UTC

maybe they just completed the cover up

2019-09-26 14:33:28 UTC

unlike the soviets

2019-09-26 14:34:07 UTC

also my parents are incredibly eco

2019-09-26 14:34:12 UTC

they hate nuclear

2019-09-26 14:34:20 UTC

asked them how they would fix the problem

2019-09-26 14:34:28 UTC

they say wind and solar on every roof

2019-09-26 14:34:43 UTC

Get better parents

2019-09-26 14:34:45 UTC

like we would have to build new coal plants and shit to even produce all that stuff

2019-09-26 14:35:02 UTC

germany is building new coal plants btw

2019-09-26 14:35:10 UTC

glad we moved away from nuclear derp

2019-09-26 14:35:18 UTC

most westerners live in places where there's not a lot of solar energy per square meter

2019-09-26 14:35:20 UTC

also literally running out of space for wind power

2019-09-26 14:35:33 UTC

they are considering chopping down forrests for wind farms

2019-09-26 14:35:47 UTC

sure if you live in southern california or arizona or something solar makes a certain amount of sense as a supplementary source of power

2019-09-26 14:36:05 UTC

but in new england? good luck making it break even.

2019-09-26 14:36:11 UTC

green energy is not effecient enough to be a main power

2019-09-26 14:36:28 UTC

nuclear or even fusion in the future would be ideal

2019-09-26 14:36:43 UTC

nowadays there wont even be any radioactive junk left

2019-09-26 14:37:08 UTC

but they call me science deniers when they themselves dont believe in reactor advancements since 1950 lmao

2019-09-26 14:38:41 UTC

Solar and wind are good options in combination with hydroelectric. You let the sun fill in when water levels are low. If your solar output exceeds consumption, you can use the excess to pump water back up the dam.

2019-09-26 14:39:04 UTC

This is actually something the Swiss do

2019-09-26 14:39:05 UTC

in most countries you cant use hydroelectric

2019-09-26 14:39:49 UTC

They buy up French electricity to fill their dams when the French nucler plants exceed consumption.

2019-09-26 14:39:50 UTC

you dont have a general avialability of it like sun and wind

2019-09-26 14:40:27 UTC

also considering that mountenous countries with the ability have much less people and demand for electricity

2019-09-26 14:40:39 UTC

Speaking of nuclear
