UBI is nothing short of wealth redistribution. Idc how automated things get. Also incentivizes laziness. Labor itself can be virtuous and humbling, and sometimes its good to bring a human element even into jobs that could otherwise be automated. Also, not everyone has the intelligence level for a career in STEM. Solid low-tier jobs provide a meaning for the lower castes of society, instead of letting them waste away mooching off the government and atrophying from a lack of environmental enrichment.
