You asked and I am answering
The idea behind the christian faith is to be born and try to bear your trials and tribulations in a christlike fashion for a higher purpose
Not to seek comfort
Well tahts ridiculous- that implies god will "catch up with me" in due time. what about 2,3,4
6 year old child has stage 4 cancer- can your god save them...
You being a non-believer I assume conflate happy with comfortable
I was raised a roman catholic dude, then I saw the light <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
Now I don't believe in any of that shite
I wouldnt prop up roman Catholicism as the apex of what it means to be Christian
However I find religious debate pointless really
I don't believe in god but those were not even difficult questions my dude. One of the characteristics ascribed to god is omniscience. Which is infinite knowledge. More than you more than me more than everyone who ever lived.
So when you take your dog to the vet for shots it doesn't know what a heartworm is of anything. It is not capable of knowing why it has to go to a strange place and have painful things happen to it. All it has is a faith in you and your care for it. So that times infinity is what people refer to as 'ineffable'
I do have faith though I seldom speak of it because jts no ones business but my own
If you believe in an all powerful god you have to defend the reason for him not using his abilities to save people, especially people who have done no wrong and under your doctrine are "innocent"
Your get out of jail will be "original sin" but that has no bearing here
And an athiest will never change their mind its like talking to a wall
I do not have to prove or justify anything to anyone
In the end we will all find out the truth one way or another
Course you do, if you take your religion out of the home you will get told bollocks, like now- online <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
Imagine acting like your opinion is of bearing or concern
I told you your god reaches down and tells me i'm wrong i'll believe, until that time he isn't real
and if he is all powerful he could reach down, so why doesn't he
I dont believe in an interventionist god
Ah
I see him more as as a watchmaker
He set all the pieces in place and set them moving and offers small guidence to each individual piece as needed
So you have a god that cant be seen, cant be felt, cant be met (until you die), has no ability to help you or those around you, so what exactly does he do to deserve your faith
you said he does nothing
That is none of your business
My faith is my own, I have my own personal reasons that I will not share
But in the end if we both die tomorrow
No it isn't, but if you mention it in discourse then stand by for the critique
If your right, who cares?
If I am right, well then you've got a problen now dont you
Don't suppose I should care tbh 🤔
If youbwish to be an athiest fine
Unless your spreading that propaganda around
Then I care
Which I am not
I have never posited that my way is the only correct way and everyone else is defective
You did
