pretty sure that wasn't mentioned on the ballots
you're the only one reeing about anything here bucko
everyone else is just having a conversation
@Death in June The President once elected is no longer bound to the will of the people. Which is why everyone should be very skeptical of the Presidents actions.
that goes for any sort of representative
Impeachment? What? @Wizard_of_The_West
He is bound by the will of the people kek
@Nathan James 123 That's not the intent of impeachment
And now watch Mitch McConnel just say out loud "yeah, we lied our asses off about why we didn't have a hearing and sat on our asses. deal with it"
Yet the ability is there <:pot_of_kek:544849795433496586>
So in reality, he is.
in any case executive power is where real political power lies
Impeachment is for when the President abandons his Oath or uses his powers to corrupt the intent of his office.
i mean from a technical standpoint you could argue the most powerful position in the US govt. is speaker of the house; they get control over a lot of things
especially with regards to money
iirc
yeah no thats right; all revenue bills have to come from the house
most powerful position in the us isn't in the government
thats a whole other issue
we need to get money out of our political system ASAP; one of the few things i agree with AOC on
dont worry it wont happen
oh yeah, how's that AOC/Ted Cruz lobbyist regulation going?
Not really. You just need to add some limits on it @W1NT3R1SC0MING
Lobbying is a legitimate thing
The Executive was definitely muted with the establishment of merit based civil servant system. So instead of everyone being subject to political changes only the more senior levels can be replaced willy nilly.
and should be
Money isn't the problem at all
Just adopt UK policy and make everything public
It's that lobbying is profitable
Lobbying is by definition competing against the will of the electorate with money
Make it easy for the news to rail into people for the money they recieve
If it's not declared, it's illegal
If civil servants opposed the Administrations goals objectively they should be fired.
Simple as.
the issue is the people writing the campaign finance laws and tax codes are also being paid off to put in the loopholes
If they are doing their job and that in itself opposes the administration then that sounds like a whistleblower in the making.
it all needs to go to ensure the will of the electorate is their only concern
Just forcing people to make it all public will get around that
They literally pay money to achieve what they can't with votes or winning arguments. its not legitimate.
Giving any kind of item or money to a politician must be declared
