but it's funny

2019-10-03 21:06:00 UTC

I know people who voted remain and now thnk the EU is the devil incarnate and deeply regret ther vote. Sorry, PEP, it do be like that.

2019-10-03 21:06:21 UTC

sure sure

2019-10-03 21:06:33 UTC

Because if anything has been shown the past 4 years

2019-10-03 21:06:38 UTC

its that brexit is being a massive success

2019-10-03 21:06:41 UTC

lmao

2019-10-03 21:09:05 UTC

Because you can base it on what hasn't happened due to a remainer government? The *only* way to judge whether r not Brexit is a success is to get Brexit and see what happens after the adjustmnt period.

2019-10-03 21:09:10 UTC

oh oh, can i do it? please?
"brexit hasnt happened yet how can you judge it?"

2019-10-03 21:11:06 UTC

brexit has quite definitively proven how broken parliament is and the representational deficit when you have MPs who believe they are elected to use their own judgement and an electorate who believe the MPs are supposed to represent them. it's about 80% in opposite directions.

2019-10-03 21:11:08 UTC

fix that.

2019-10-03 21:11:30 UTC

The remainer govt

2019-10-03 21:11:36 UTC

ya ok lmao

2019-10-03 21:12:36 UTC

i got the percentages wrong, but still:

2019-10-03 21:13:15 UTC

this one tweet shows the huge problem brexit exposed

2019-10-03 21:13:28 UTC

it's probably more important than leaving the EU

2019-10-03 21:15:59 UTC

MPs "WE HAVE TO STOP THIS POPULIST SCURGE"

2019-10-03 21:16:04 UTC

The people "What?"

2019-10-03 21:16:11 UTC

The thing is though

2019-10-03 21:16:20 UTC

the MP's are there to act in their constituencies best interests

2019-10-03 21:16:26 UTC

it's their and their civil servants jobs

2019-10-03 21:16:29 UTC

to know what's best for the country

2019-10-03 21:16:35 UTC

bob down the pub doesn't know foreign policy

2019-10-03 21:16:39 UTC

no, they're elected to represent their constituency

2019-10-03 21:16:46 UTC

Pep, why have you started posting in here?

2019-10-03 21:16:47 UTC

at least, thats what the people think

2019-10-03 21:16:49 UTC

You never did before

2019-10-03 21:17:03 UTC

Who knows

2019-10-03 21:17:04 UTC

Didn't know we existed down here? ;3

2019-10-03 21:17:12 UTC

You are misunderstanding standing what this poll shows.

It shows that the people of the country do not agree with the MPs on their role

2019-10-03 21:17:29 UTC

Doesnt matter what the "Proper role is"

2019-10-03 21:17:51 UTC

I remember hearing something about how MP candidates were originally chosen by the local branches, but they changed that ages ago and all MP candidates are chosen by the central branch

2019-10-03 21:17:55 UTC

it's a massive disconnect of opinion between the people elected and the people electing them.

2019-10-03 21:18:00 UTC

Exactly

2019-10-03 21:18:55 UTC

There's a disconnect between the political classes in this system? No, I never!

2019-10-03 21:19:04 UTC

Welcome to Britain now and historically.

2019-10-03 21:19:07 UTC

Id say its got larger recently

2019-10-03 21:19:17 UTC

this is why it appears to people like me, that we elect politicians on a manifesto who then proceed to do whatever the fuck they like for 4-5 years. its because it's true, that's exactly what happens from the point of view of someone who thinks MPs should represent their constituents opinions and desires.

2019-10-03 21:19:23 UTC

It had always been that way

2019-10-03 21:19:24 UTC

Id say the disconnect was more manageable before

2019-10-03 21:19:30 UTC

Taking us into World War 2 was exactly the same

2019-10-03 21:19:36 UTC

Probably due to the internet
