I like how there was that myth that 80 % of laws in our country (Slavland) is from the EU. They debunked it by saying it's only 30-40 %.
Wew. Nothing to worry 'bout there then <:pepelaugh:544857300179877898>
and we don't create every single law made in the EU
Does this technically count as UK news? <:GWseremePeepoThink:402867838580293643>

Is that Hong Kong?
Yep
Invade China to protect our colonies
We should have kept Hong Kong
We put in so much work selling Opium to get Hong Kong and then we just gave it back
Thw Hong Konians don't wish to be a part of China either
Honk Honk

I think Boris might be able to find a technicality like this and use it to take us out on the 31st
the supreme court could just rule that it's legal and won't be anything we can do about it.
I wonder if we would get into a situation where a future parliament votes to dissolve the supreme court.
and the supreme court just declares the vote unlawful.
Boris should propose a new judicial body that could make decisions outside of the government.
The supreme court would rule that illegal
But actually it's just a description of the supreme court with some words replaced with synonyms
Supreme court effectively declares itself illegal
???
From my understanding if parliament voted on it then there would be nothing the supreme court could do cos parliament is sovereign and all that
The Supreme Court could just rule that Parliamentary Sovereignty is unlawful
That would be quite funny
The Supreme Court has pretty much ruled that it almost has infinite power now
It could theoretically rule that anything is unlawful
Yeah the constitution is in a bit of a mess right now
Why don't they just rule that the Constitution is Unlawful?
That would be one big brained play
Just rule that democracy in general is unlawful and then begin a new age of dictatorship
I mean the UK isnt really a democracy, it's a parliamentary oligarchy
There isn't really a limit on parliament's power unless the queen decides to do something
i thought it was a constitutional monarchy, which is a form of democracy
but whatever, that wasn't even the point i was making
ehh it's all a mess
it is
and yeah I bet the supreme court would love to do it if they thought they could get away with it
I feel like the very fabric of your political structure is being tested and I've only just become aware of it
our*
Yeah i never realised how messed up it all is
I think it relied on a gentlemen's agreement that kept it all going smoothly but thats totally broken down now
