Same applies to the Internet
It's a joke that not how I accualy feel about it
There will be no air gap at the current rate
Never discuss your real name, location more accurate than city, line of work and especially not employer.
Because all political parties are working to yeet it, Tories included
Never use work equipment to access personal things, even a work mobile
Too much of a pain to upkeep that gap anyway, everything's linked to social media. These people are like sniffer hounds they'll find a way
Fake your DOB always
It's easy to maintain that gap, really easy
Only hard bit is if you buy and sell stuff as people in that community have your real name and address, which is why you don't use LinkedIn at all
It's not possible System11
Also you never share social media stuff with anyone at work, ever.
THey're moving to remove all air-gap, you'll need these things to be able to work and trade
You don't need social media to work
There's nothing to stop you creating a dull as dishwater real name account too
There'll come a time in the not too distant future where they won't employ you if you don't have a social media account, and when all of your internet traffic will be tied to it
It is very easy to do @Eccles
You can also just remove your social media.
That's why I do have a real name Facebook account. It has a single message to a utility company.
If anyone asks it's what they get
You don't want a disconnect if you're a public figure
That degrades your influence
It's increadibly easy to keep the disonnect @system11
It'll become a two tier society - those connected to the panopticon, and ghosts who are not
Not really
Also if your life revolves around social media, it's not much of a life.
Tell that to the chinese
Social media isn't mandatory there.
Don't like it, don't use it.
Nope, but their rights are constrained by their actions
As are ours.
As is everyones.
And honestly employers are mostly concerned that you aren't making them look bad, it's why they ask
I know our HR Dept goes fishing based on real name, they don't request sccounts
I'm just pointing out the direction of travel. Don't shoot the messenger!
If your lose your job based on Facebook posts, you don't deserve it.
That's why it's important to have a dull actual name account for them to find
It's always been like that @Eccles
Of course it's not always been like that
"but their rights are constrained by their actions"
