Yes I do, but there are "ways around" the Benn Act are there not?
In reality, no, and there are easy steps that the opposition can take to avert a no deal brexit anyway
right
What if our extension is vetoed?
You ever hear of "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best" Eccles?
Or is it allways just doom and gloom
We've been through this
there are ways, it just depends if they can fly
and yes one is a veto
So what are the other ways? I heard something about him deliberately fucking the letter up in some way
If the extension is vetoed, they call a vote of no confidence and oust Boris with a short-term government whose sole job will be to revoke article 50 and call and election
Maybe but there is legal issues with that afaik
If they can actually agree on anything
once again
Way too pessimistic
or optimistic
depending
Hate to say it but what Eccles said sounds damn fucking plausible lol
Not when you keep track of the situation
Of course it's plausible. It's also electoral suicide for Labour/Lib Dems, but it does fuck brexit up
and they dont want to compromise
However lots of things are plausible
doesnt mean its probable
Doesn't matter
It would be so narrow that it doesn't matter who leads it
🙏🏿
If extension is vetoed, then won't tories be on top in the polls? They'd get in with a majority
Beause we'd be on track to leave on the 31st still
But that's the point
Boris doesn't need to get us out by oct 31st on chicanery and things of dubious legal status
A GNU
need the tory rebels
JC doesnt get that for one
ALl he needs to do is get the extension and get the election
labour wont vote for anyone but JC
Then there is the other parties
So I doubt a VONC can work
If he forces the oppositions hands with chicanery, he's likely to lose his prime ministership AND brexit will be cancelled resetting the clock to 0 again, and we would be unlikely to get either a brexit pm to replace him, and certainly not someone with the election power of boris
SO while it's tempting for Boris to do something madladdish, it's imprudent
