*Continue to fail*
people in the 900s or so had a better work life balance than us now
being a peasant was based
Wholesome life tbh @Death in June
Nathan, what specific subject(s) are required in order to be allowed to vote?
Why should you be allowed to vote Nathan?
that main issue in those days was poor medical technology and malthusian traps, i think
No specific subjects. You just need to complete college level education @Crafty
Id say no age restriction, but either propertied or service sufferage.
I mean all people for selective suffereage ALWAYS include themselves
I have over a college level education, I'm over the age and I'm a land owner @Joshu
Because they are selfish that way
And want their own way
If we were going to do something other than raw age
@Nathan James 123 those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it, taking away people's belief that they can change the system non violently won't stop them from trying to change the system.
That is the only reason to want to gerrymander the system in that way
It's the same as those wanting illegals to be able to vote
Education sufferage is litteraly institutionalist technocracy
Or, required national service
It's just because their ideas suck and can't get support
So throw their toys out of the pram
So you're actually vested in the country and have actually worked for your ability to vote
I do quite like that, but I doubt the government will bring back national service
maybe property requirements for voting made more sense before the concentration of capital that we've seen starting in the late 19th century
Anyway I'm gonna get because to work

i'd prefer to have it split between workers, soldiers, and familial councils that meet face to face
@Death in June capital has always been concentrated
with executive power being shared between them and an undemocratic authority
not like it is now
Buisness ownership being a requirement seems fair, if we are talking about breaking up the massive governmental power structures that allow megacorps to grow as large as they have for as long as they have
Regardless, there needs to be more limits on whom can vote
prior to the civil war for example the vast majority of americans were self-employed
it wasn't even really a capitalist country then
because wage labor wasn't a big fixture of the economy
due to the diffuse ownership of capital
Wage labor via contracting is already becoming a thing now
If the regulations that keep small businesses down are broadly removed it would skyrocket.
it's not in the interests of those who initially win market competition to allow competitors to usurp them
Which is why they use government to pull up the ladder behind them. Which is where we are now so at worst we would be back to square one
