Only way anyone is gonna get better at something is if its a vested interest. With drawing, its time invested in practice. I traced for a long time. I also barrowed almost all the books of "how to draw" at the library. My advice would be to try and identify how you learn the process best. Do you see the shapes and know how the shapes are suppose to be? go with that. Do you need to work from the skeletal structure up? do that. Everyone has their own way a doin things and everyone has their own refinements they need to make!
