Were you less pessimistic in the past?

2017-09-16 04:53:43 UTC

No, actually I'm quite new to Georgism. So this is actually an optimistic turn.

2017-09-16 04:54:45 UTC

Do you have much exposure to other kinds of Leftism, Marx or Kropotkin?

2017-09-16 04:57:42 UTC

Nnnope. Very limited. I have "Origin of the Family, Private Property, and the State" but I've only touched it barely. I've been party to anarchist communes, and leading up to Georgism I saw myself as a "wannabe anarchist" - IE, I idolized that system but had no real hope of it functioning broadly and only limited hope of it functioning self-sufficiently for production. Also, the communities I was part of, though run by clever people, were full of idpol to the point of masochism.

2017-09-16 04:58:28 UTC

That's a shame.

2017-09-16 04:59:15 UTC

There is a lot of content to possibly go through. Are you new to Discord in general?

2017-09-16 04:59:31 UTC

No, but I don't register this name.

2017-09-16 05:00:24 UTC

I guess my advice would be to expose yourself to different politics, ask questions and join different Discord servers.

2017-09-16 05:00:38 UTC

Are there multiple leftypol servers?

2017-09-16 05:00:54 UTC

Why do you love leftypol so much?

2017-09-16 05:02:36 UTC

I don't. Leftypol sucks. It's just one of very few relatively large lefty communities where shitting on idpol and pop-sensitivity stuff is smiled upon. and the divisive identity problems in the mainstream (and even less mainstream) American 'left' are acknowledged and criticized.

2017-09-16 05:04:12 UTC

I'm not really out to read theory on the servers - I *do* read stuff that piques my interest on the board, but I'm more looking here for discussion where I can participate in some form of action not necessarily related to theory. Not antifa either, just some way to physically help out.

2017-09-16 05:05:41 UTC

Stay a while. I am not connected to political parties, but others here are. They could help you.

2017-09-16 05:06:06 UTC

Cool!

2017-09-16 05:08:46 UTC

@JonnyWhatsit So tell me, what is your ideology?

2017-09-16 05:10:14 UTC

@Deleted User Scroll up numb nuts.

2017-09-16 05:10:34 UTC

@Deleted User Let the man answer for himself.

2017-09-16 05:11:35 UTC

>Let the man repeat himself
Amazing.

2017-09-16 05:11:58 UTC

Georgism

2017-09-16 05:12:10 UTC

**No clue if I even spelt this right**

2017-09-16 05:12:15 UTC

This one has comprehension skills.

2017-09-16 05:13:23 UTC

@Anglican The fuck is that?

2017-09-16 05:14:09 UTC

I don't know

2017-09-16 05:14:18 UTC

Chopin said something like Liberal socdem reformism

2017-09-16 05:14:39 UTC

Sounds like something that even soc dem's would hate.

2017-09-16 05:15:27 UTC

Erm...

2017-09-16 05:15:33 UTC

None of that is inherently opposed

2017-09-16 05:15:54 UTC

Oh

2017-09-16 05:15:59 UTC

Geo-libertarianism

2017-09-16 05:16:01 UTC

I've heard of this

2017-09-16 05:16:15 UTC

it's the market side of the 'land should not be a thing to be bought and sold'

2017-09-16 05:16:23 UTC

Did y'all know Adam Smith stole his ideas from Sharia law?

2017-09-16 05:16:37 UTC

🤔

2017-09-16 05:17:43 UTC

@Anglican What the fuck, how do you even promote a market in a state where land cannot be bought or sold?

2017-09-16 05:18:22 UTC

It is one of the first political ideologies he has learned much about. Give him a break.

2017-09-16 05:18:36 UTC

You just use it?

2017-09-16 05:18:44 UTC

I don't advocate for it neither do I know shit about it.

2017-09-16 05:18:57 UTC

I'm just skimming over the wikipedia article

2017-09-16 05:19:12 UTC

>Wikipedia
Stop that.

2017-09-16 05:19:15 UTC

I guess it's just a principle of occupation of land equals ownership
