And were trying to prevent a situation in which the western powers would fail to ally with them

2018-03-09 22:52:33 UTC

Against Germany

2018-03-09 22:52:37 UTC

In the coming war

2018-03-09 22:52:57 UTC

At that point, what happened really didn't matter in spain, because at that point, the soviet union was starting to pull out, leadership was collapsing, and so was the military, it was natural at that point, that the communists would have turned on each other for their differences in their beliefs.

2018-03-09 22:53:26 UTC

But it had been happening, hence the conditional support in aid

2018-03-09 22:54:02 UTC

People were finding our marxists security forces miles behind the front lines were more armed than the actual troops fighting the war

2018-03-09 22:54:03 UTC

What?

2018-03-09 22:54:06 UTC

I think anarchists had much less power and resources. They had to submit to Marxists at that point because they had no opportunity by themselves. In a different situation I would agree they could fight for their cause. But in this situation submission and cooperative agreement with other progressive forces would be more beneficial for everyone. Instead they fought Republican and Marxists and failed catastrophically all together as losers.

2018-03-09 22:54:21 UTC

They were this armed, explicitly as a means to reverse anarchist actions

2018-03-09 22:54:23 UTC

And take their arms

2018-03-09 22:54:41 UTC

It was only later they started shooting everyone as the war was clearly lost

2018-03-09 22:55:09 UTC

And notice "the communists" weren't turning on eachother

2018-03-09 22:55:19 UTC

The marxists were purging radical popular ideologies

2018-03-09 22:55:21 UTC

@Firefly#9983 They would have lost decisively if they still did cooperate, afterall, they did cooperate in the first months of the civil war, but were still beaten time and time again by franco and the falange.

2018-03-09 22:55:40 UTC

They werent beaten time and time again by Franco, it took years.

2018-03-09 22:55:49 UTC

@Comrade Skeltal Is that to say that communism from the soviet union WASN'T radical?

2018-03-09 22:55:51 UTC

And partiality on behalf of the embarking powers

2018-03-09 22:55:57 UTC

@Deleted User They did provide some resistance.

2018-03-09 22:55:58 UTC

In spain, no

2018-03-09 22:56:00 UTC

It wasn't radical

2018-03-09 22:56:05 UTC

@Firefly#9983 Some, sure.

2018-03-09 22:56:11 UTC

They literally reverse anarchist collectivization

2018-03-09 22:56:13 UTC

@Comrade Skeltal What do you mean?

2018-03-09 22:56:20 UTC

I'm not talking about Russia at all

2018-03-09 22:56:29 UTC

Even though in Russia they did the same thing

2018-03-09 22:56:38 UTC

There was a period of counter-revolutionary action

2018-03-09 22:56:48 UTC

On behalf of the marxists in Spain

2018-03-09 22:56:48 UTC

What?

2018-03-09 22:56:52 UTC

Doing things like passing laws

2018-03-09 22:57:00 UTC

Marxist communists sure as hell are radical.

2018-03-09 22:57:02 UTC

That limited and reversed past actions of collectivization

2018-03-09 22:57:09 UTC

Rex, hush for one moment.

2018-03-09 22:57:16 UTC

Hell no, I won't.

2018-03-09 22:57:23 UTC

You're not listening and arguing something entirely besides the point

2018-03-09 22:57:41 UTC

Nobody cares about what you think of the marxists, I'm arguing actions in spain.

2018-03-09 22:58:05 UTC

@Comrade Skeltal I am arguing because I do not agree with what you are saying, I do not give a damn whether or not you care about it.

2018-03-09 22:58:28 UTC

You're being stupid, This isnt something to "agree" Or "not" agree with.

2018-03-09 22:58:36 UTC

I'm arguing the policies they enacted

2018-03-09 22:58:37 UTC

@Comrade Skeltal Yes, it is.

2018-03-09 22:58:42 UTC

No, no it isnt

2018-03-09 22:58:45 UTC

Yes, it is.
