Colonialism ended like 100 years ago
Ok here’s a question, why wouldn’t we switch to central planning when markets have proven inefficient at distribution? Billions of pounds of food goes to waste every year sitting on the shelves of supermarkets while millions starve to death
oh no its shuka
Capitalism may be trash
but can y'all give some alternatives then
Central planning isn’t needed to get food to people
There wasn’t central planning before and yet famines are still rare
basically everybody here believes in some kind of alternative be it fascism communism anarchism or national socialism
If anything central planning might make distribution worse because you can’t predict consumption patterns like that
so basically ask anybody
Also we’re slowly getting better
Millions of people are lifted from poverty every year and over time the standard for poverty gets higjer
Yes it has actually. Soviet caloric consumption was higher than that of the united states and they had much less to work with from the start @.suki
We live like royalty from a thousand years ago
I'm certainly critical of capitalism for sure, but from what I've seen communism and the like eventually devolve into capitalism + authoritarianism
oh i forgot to mention anon is a tankie
What’s a tankie?
tankies are soviet union lovers
Ye whats a tankie
ohhh
a special kind of communist
kek
pretty rare
Why would you like the Soviet Union
It was terrible
I wasnt around personally, so ive only heard the stories
you've done it now
anon gonna rant now
o god o fuck
Under Marxism millions of people died and there was literally no freedom at all
No free speech no protests or anything
wow shuka you said something somewhat smart
He killed millions of his own people in Ukraine because they wanted democratic reforms
How is any of that good
you've really triggered anon
@Yō Watanabe 1) capitalism hasn’t taken anyone out of poverty, the idea that it has is primarily the result of interference with the IPL which showed decreases in poverty. 2) in the context of the distribution of food, water, etc, we have a well defined idea of how much a human being needs to survive. The information problem doesn’t work
