The naval blockade option was a legitimate one for dealing with the japanese

With the soviets (although I cringe at that statement) declaring war on them aswell

A naval blockade awsnt going to happen though the only way to stop was to invade japan, and the US considered resources used in DDay and it was massive, so a nuke was the only option
