beliefs don't put food on the table
manifestos don't bring health insurance
but when that world starts to crack, to shear
beliefs become the difference between life and death, and our souls find life once more
people will just believe what the pack around them does
sometimes, but often not
after all, why are mass shootings continuously increasing in frequency?
various reasons
Some people are mental, some use it as a tool to spread manifestos and beliefs, martyrdom
some people may just wanna kill a bunch of others
nah
it's a product of alienation
lashing out against a constantly intensifying claustrophobia
we're trapped, pinned, caged
more and more people are realising that, and they react in different ways
depression rates, skyrocketing
I'm sure alienation is a factor
mass shooting rates, skyrocketing
bipolar rates, skyrocketing
I imagine it goes deeper than that though
alienation is incredibly deep
our personal autonomy has been robbed from us
and that kind of thing affects people
we've taken such horrific concepts as 'mid life crisis' and normalised them totally
grown men suddenly wanting to kill themselves, throwing themselves into all sorts of flings and spending money lavishly in a desperate attempt to *feel* once again isn't 'just a part of life'
it's an atrocity
things like this have been increasing in scale and intensity, and will continue to do so
pollution was bad once
it has done little other than get worse since we first started doing it
they patched up the ozone layer as factories quadrupled in quantity
rachel carson wrote her environmentalist novel 'silent spring' as the aral sea was disappearing
things have done nothing more than get much worse for hundreds of years and we're only just now realising on a societal level that it's going to keep doing that until we make some serious changes
Sorry doing homework, I just don't see how you can attribute all of this to alienation. I certainly see it as a factor but your acting like it is the sole instigator.
In the cases of alienation your mentioning there's also a huge umbrella of causes to what leads to people feeling this way
alienation is not a sole instigator, rather a consequence
it is a consequence, which in turn has other consequences
@Ned Kelly what u think about islam and muslim immigration into europe?
yes, a huge umbrella of causes, of which incredibly few cannot be attributed to the causes of alienation
capitalism, and the industrial society
Over exaggerated and over used by nationalists, if they truly cared they would’ve complained about the turks moving to Europe in the 80s and early 90s
