I have been listening to Michael Duncan's History of Rome podcast. He said that although homosexuality was not uncommon, it was not an identity and it was considered extremely shameful to play the passive role a/k/a catcher.

Very interesting. Some parts are harder to grasp than others, just because there is so much history to absorb, but it is very enjoyable. I am in the mid third century AD at the moment.
