The work is more interesting and engaging when theres little narratorion input
But like I said earlier, tell is only ever good when timing is an issue
Ima take my nuggets of criticism and head out before the guns break out! That or I’m much worse at reading people than I previously thought
Oh, and sincere thanks, “why do you hate periods?” Got a genuine chuckle out of me- I needed one of those
Instead of saying, "She was hungry for blood." You instead depict how "A dark scarlet trail trickled down her glistening skin. A sinister grin manifested beneath her wild eyes for her appetite still yet unquenched."

My opponent has rage quit...
Oh, I dunno, you can get *too* florid in your detailed showing.
lmao, is someone angry?
I never read past the first book of the Wheel of Time series for that reason; I couldn't stand having every detail written out.
Why would I be angry lol
Its just a sticker
who?
Because its funny...
Nah, I just sense tension and flee because I’m a coward... that or, as I mentioned, I suck at reading people
purple prose is entirely a thing.
lmao, I was never tense. I'm direct. Seems like DisneyChick is direct too ahahaha
Yes, and some people enjoy it, some do not. And it's not always appropriate for every story.
I have the perception of a brick. If people aren’t blunt with me, I will miss 100% of what is said to me
True
Me too. I don't typically read past what someone says, intentions or otherwise. If we're conversing, we're conversing. If someone's mad or done, I'd hope they'd say so, and we can then close it out
I recently read Peter F. Hamilton's Night's dawn trilogy. The length of the extremely long books could have been cut in half by just dumping the extraneous detail descriptions of things that didn't add to the story.
I shaking and screaming
*shrugs* Sometimes less is more.

Freaking. Read Lidya Davis's book of short stories.
Seriously, freaking 30 page ""story"" of watching cows eat grass
and just describing the grass, the fence, the different ways they were facing
Anyhow, I will share more on what I write in a couple days. I work tomorrow and Saturday before switching up for an earlier shift Monday and Tuesday
Good luck.
Show dont tell shouldnt mean excessive description. It should mean focusing on what's important plot and story wise. If it doesnt serve a purpose, why include it?
Dance Schoen!
Hamilton wrote the entire formation of a solar system, then the detailed astrophysical cycle, then the evolution from cells to spacefaring aliens, that he then killed off offscreen and never used again as a living race.
I mean, it was interesting, but useless information. LOL
ahaha WELL YOU KNOW SOME PEOPLE SHOW OFF
like Moby Dick spending forever talking about whales
Yeah.
Back to cursed-memes, where I belong
ahahahaha. That place is truly cursed
cursed is best
