People need to understand the fundamentals of money making.
Socialism: the government decides what you get and controls production and media.

Capitalism: the person gets paid for making or doing something.

Free Market: the person who does the best job for the best price makes the most money.

Capitalism isnt corporate greed or wallstreet. IF you make a single dollar doing anything you are benifiting from capitalism.

Naturally the free market creates the best of anything. Food, movies, games even shows.

I finished out the latest version of The Stand. Most of the casting was okay, but the decision to tell the entire story in jumbled sequence was really off-putting. It added nothing, and took away the suspense almost entirely.

It also didn't help that they didn't intro one of the main, pivotal characters at all until episode six out of nine.

On a scale from one to ten, I'd give it a five at best.

Hello, Id like to talk about the disaster of a movie that was the new Aladdin live remake and why if you like that movie, you have terrible taste.

See, its awful. It is WORST in EVERY way compared to the original and I will stand by that statement.

The music is awful and they even add in the "Im a woman, my voice needs to be heard" song, even though all of it was fully in her head so... what? Are we just doing cut away daydreams songs now? Will smiths singing in this was about as good as his music career. He even improvised some lyrics. like "Mr. oh whats your name." And thats not because he just forgot it in the recording booth. They added that and okayed that sort of change while trying to live off the popularity the original still held from Robin Williams.

And of course they changed the "problematic" language of the older songs too.

So if the music sucks what else is there?

Perhaps acting?

The original cast had to emote very well as it was just voices so they had to really capture emotion and their character.

In the original Jafar was smart, ruthless but clever enough to cover it up and always able to talk his way out of situations.
In this movie he is just ruthless, has an established habit of killing anyone in a fit of rage who dares to say he is not the sultan, yet does not kill the sultan or jasmine when both of them say that to his face AND insult him directly. In the O he was also smart enough to pretend to be other people and use other people. In this one he just bribes and threatens people to do what he wants.

Perhaps the sultan then? In the original, he was a simple, perhaps bumbling at times, likable and practical person who wanted the best for his daughter but also had to follow the rules. he was being manipulated by jafar but managed to snap out of it with help. In the movie he is a leader who is respected, he follows the rules but ultimately he has to be a misogynist because thats the only reason a person who rules a kingdom would not listen to the advice of his young daughter who does not want to follow the rules. In the original you relate to him because he admits he did not make the rules but has to follow them but still wants the best for her and learns sometimes exceptions can be made. In the movie he is an old man stuck in his ways who only sees the light at the end about how right his daughter was about the rules being so pointless and so steps down for her to take full control.

Well since we are on Jasmine lets talk about her roles in the movie. In the original she was beautiful, rich but also smart. She was also sick of all the people who just liked her for her money and looks. She dislikes the rules but is trying to find the least worst solution because she understands her dad is not bad but that rules have to be followed. She meets a guy who likes her for her looks but discovers he likes her for who she is too. She is even smart enough to know to make a distraction at the end by playing along and tricking Jafar. In the remake she is a person who knows all the best ways to do things. She wants to change things but her dad wont listen to her because she is just a woman in this world for men. (Which is accurate for the time period but played like its the men who are the problem) She meets Aladin, they have a moment. She meets him again but is only willing to give him a chance because her inserted character friend urges her to give him a chance. When things go south and Jafar has the power she has her stupid song moment and she does not trick Jafar, just defies him, stupidly, as he has all the power and even magic now and ONLY because Aladdin stops him do they manage to right the wrongs, now she is the woman in power and knows everything she wants to do and the movie ends with her hitting on aladdin. She never grew as a character

Well surely the hero will be different? In the first one, Aladdin was just a thief with a heart of gold, giving up a meal he spent all day trying to get and then gives it to some other orphans because he empathises. Then he runs into bad luck and an old prisoner offers him a chance to find a secret treasure. He manages to get the lamp and then becomes a prince and gets the girl he always wanted. However he is in a moral dilema, he made a promise to Genie, but at the same time he is lying to Jasmine. He does not like lying to her, but by not freeing Genie he would be lying. In the movie its a key plot point. So he decides instead to do the right thing and come clean to Jasmine and then free Genie but Jafar steals the lamp. And only through using all his abilities with his friends, He fails to save the day. Again, the only way to beat Jafar was to outsmart him. And at the end, instead of getting what he wants, to marry the girl of his dreams and wish to be a prince again, he opts to do the right thing. And because he does the right thing the sultan sees he is a man of quality and the best choice for his daughter as well as Jasmine seeing he is willing to do whats right rather than get what he wants.

In the remakes they dont have that. He is a thief, he meets Jasmine, they hit it off but he gets arrested. He willingly works for Jafar because Jafar promises to help him because "We are not so different you and I" literally every villain speech ever. He gets the lamp, is a prince and is enjoying being a prince, feels guilt but ultimately does not want to screw this up so he does not free him but does not make a wish either. In the final battle he wins because manages to get the lamp and then trick Jafar, and does not get his wish to be a prince so he frees Genie. Jasmine becomes sultan and he goes back to his life with a tease that they might get together at the end. Meaning all the choices to do the right thing did nothing in the end, it was all given to Jasmine.

SO yeah, the acting sucked and the plot was made worst.

by story telling measures too.

And the old animation was able to show and tell more than the new one with CGI was able to do.

Also they did not turn Iago into a hilariously stupid dinosaur bird Kaiju at the end. He was Comic releif.

Also Return of Jafar AND the King of Thieves were better than the remake, and dare someone to try and prove me wrong.

Why did I say all this? I have heard people defending that movie saying "its not that bad. That song is one of the best parts of the movies."
