I usually associate fire and brimstone with the Baptists. The modern Catholic Church I would say has gone full liberal. But about the 7 sacraments. They are biblical, I guess I could spend time looking up the verses. But I’m making dinner. Jesus was baptized, the told the disciples “who’s sins you forgive, they are forgiven”, marriage was already a sacrament in Jewish law Jesus emphasized monogamy, umm let’s see, the institution of the Eucharist before his Passion and death...

this is what i got from the catholic services i attended..... no mention or discussion about how jesus loves me, just "do this, do that".... that only applies to people who had already devoted their lives to jesus.... i was still on the fence at the time, so the rules made no sense

all i felt when i went to catholic services was blame and guilt, no redemption or love there whatsoever.... catholic preachers and laymen here in australia have become so insular that it only appeals to those who grew up in the church, which is why attendance and new converts are dwindling
