Does that mean that diagnosed Psychopaths can't be saved in your opinion?
That is not what it means, in greek the word metanoia is used meaning a change of mind. it's not just emotions.
The NT was written in greek
You should watch david woods testimony
It's a lot to take in because he could have ended up on a very dark path
I think he said that it is possible to acknowledge guilt without the emotive response.
from my understanding psychopaths are born and sociopaths are made/formed as in environmental.
I think they both fall under anti-social personality disorder, but does that mean that they cannot find salvation?
what do you mean?
I means 'allah is great' not 'god is great', allah does not translate to god, allah is a pagan deity of the moon, so no christians shouldn't use it. allah is not YHWH
You are correct, I don't know why people think allah and Yahweh are the same.
They aren't the same god the claims of mohammed contradict the bible.
Then why did you say christians can say 'allahu ahkbar'?
@Jenjen I don't think that it's biblical what you are saying about humans replacing the fallen angels, humans are distinct from angels.
> It is something that has stuck with me since childhood.
@Kit_DewStein That doesn't mean that it's true.
Why would animals be in heaven?
You're going to have to point out biblically something to backup your claim.
There will also be a new earth, both of you seem to forget that, you both seem to have an escapist view of the end times.
@Jenjen I don't care what some medieval mystic with unverified 'visions' had to say. What does the Bible say?
> Jesus rides a white horse in revelation
@Kit_DewStein You Revelation probably isn't referring to a lieterral horse.
It seems like your faith is hinging on it by how much you are defending it. The white horse represents war, that where the first coming was in peace the second coming Christ is coming for war.
But I don't know you.
Actually Jesus is the Sabbath
because we rest in him(Jesus)
I'm a Protestant and have my differences/reservations about Roman Catholic doctrine but I agree that that guy is incorrect.
@Scout I still don't understand the whole 'Peter is the first Pope' can come from that verse, in the context it sounded more like that the confession that Jesus is Lord he will build the Church, Jesus is the head of the church, but I don't want to get into an argument about that now.
@Son Dank Chapter and verse?
What makes you think that it was exclusive to Peter?
16:19 keys of the kingdom of heaven. Peter is given the authority to admit entrance into the kingdom through preaching the gospel, an authority that is subsequently granted to all who are called to proclaim the gospel. (Note the contrast with the scribes and Pharisees, who shut the kingdom in peopleโs faces, neither entering themselves nor allowing others to enter; see 23:13.) In Acts, Peter is the apostle who first preaches the message of the kingdom to the Jews at Pentecost (Acts 2), to the Samaritans (Acts 8), and to the Gentiles (Acts 10). whatever you bind โฆ whatever you loose. Peter also has authority to exercise discipline concerning right and wrong conduct for those in the kingdom, an authority that is not exclusive to Peter but is extended to the church as a whole in Matt. 18:18; cf. John 20:23. Jesus delegates authority to human leaders in the church who are called to govern his church on earth, under his ultimate authority, through the application of his Word.
While that portion of the text is Jesus talking to Peter it can also be for the church as a whole.
What does that mean?
Why are you praying to Mary
living relatives?
You're implying that we can sway God's decisions.
This is why I sometimes side with Calvinists on the sovereignty of God issue.
Christ is our Mediator.
and we should ask if it is in God's will when praying and not treat him like a 'magic genie'.
Yes we have free will but God knows all
and we should pray for God's will to be done, it is a part of the Lord's Prayer.
sorry
But what if it is not in God's will?
The saints cannot sway God's decision
I'm not saying don't pray, I'm sort of saying don't pray with the assumption that God will answer it the you want him to.
This could help
it's a little long though, it's probably a full sermon.
This is a little more short and to the point https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrfVv5u7ui0
Both God's Justice and his Mercy work in tandem though. He could not give us Mercy without fulfilling his attribute of Justice.
so it isn't either or, Jesus took the wrath of God the Father so that he could give us Mercy.
Talking about prayer
I never said you shouldn't pray
I said or was trying to say was that praying to Mary or the Saints in Heaven is unbiblical because Jesus is our only mediator, and also that we should pray that if it is according God's will then let it be done.
because we cannot sway God's will but prayer is still important because it can bring us into a closer with God.
@Jenjen But why the legalism in the catholic church?
The 7 sacraments @Jenjen
which are unbiblical by the way.
I'd be careful about hillsong.
Yeah Hillsong associates with false teachers.
I said they "associate".
Benny Hinn and Bill Johnson
are who Hillsong associates with
How are they biblical, chapter and verse
@nrky wouldn't false teachers be the more like the Pharisees and Sadduccees?
@Jenjen well there goes the infallibility of the pope idea.
@nrky Have you heard of Ray Comfort?
@nrky I'm nondenominational but I just consider myself just a Biblical Christian, I don't care as much for what denomination a fellow christian is in, if they are in Christ they are my family in Christ.
there is a YT channel, there are videos of him evangelizing
He's very graceful and loving but does not compromise/water down the message of the Gospel.
sounds close to new age/pantheism not quite but similar
You should hear the testimony of Steven Bancarz he's a former new ager turned christian apologist, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMu5F2icsT8
I might ask why do they think they are Trans.
I think that anybody should consider what God thinks is best for their life.
@Jwolf The bible is supposed to convict you and make you think differently, I'm not trying to be judgmental
We are fallen people
@Jwolf sounds like a Thorn in the Flesh kind of thing, seeing as you see it as more of curse now
@Jenjen it's okay
Ghosts, what do you mean?
@Pizzacork Well, they first have to prove that the gold plates exist, I highly doubt it.
Okay, I get what you mean.
There is the Gospel according to John and the three epistles(letters to the church).
a little convenient, isn't it?
Hey, that's what I was going to do.
OK, then prove that the claims of mormonism are true, I'm gonna listen now.
uh huh.
The Bible says to test all things according to scripture.
did you test your alleged revelation
There is faith and then there is blind faith.
Does Joseph Smith pass the OT standard of a Prophet of God?
also is there any archaeological evidence for that 'lost tribe of Israel'?
exactly what I said.
@HUNTER4639 and? did you not understand the question?
@HUNTER4639 You mentioned the book of mormon saying "It recounts the civilizations that lived in the Americas as well as Christ's visit to the Americas." from my understanding the claim of the book of mormon was that those civilizations were descendants of an alleged lost tribe of Israel.
^^
The apostles weren't afraid.
But, shouldn't we have a rational faith based on evidence?
