Also Ford tried to kill off the Mustang in the past with the Probe as a replacement, but the Mustang won out that round.

got spark, fuel, compression but makes no attempt to light

66 mustang but it's a 69 302

new cam, lifters, rings, bearings, timing set (timed correctly), pushrods, valves

it's got a carb

and a points distributor

Im assuming that it has fresh gas in it and the carb is new

If its old gas it can leave behind a varnish and you might need to flush the lines and clean the varnish off.

If it has gas, spark and compression though it should be starting.

I wonder if these are still for sale
