I myself am indifferent to the government funding of libraries but I don't want a library to be a market based thing either. I think libraries should be run and funded by charities and good will groups. One needs to be able to learn skills afterall if they are going to climb out of rock bottom (in hard times).

I think one could argue libraries are a security measure as they are a reliable source of information in the case of a societal collapse.

Be careful with the whole government defending us from hostile groups
