@chris#0919 you do realize wells can pump water without uncle sam. right?
Collecting rain water is illegal
And i wasnt talking about wells at all
@neetkthx The battery is a non-issuse if you buy the 10 year one.
for ten years, that is
You just need to buy a new one when the govt wants to check your living
but yes, i understand what you're getting at, but a smoke detector that only ran off of current would be dodgy, what with how many house fires are electrical
so, you'd need 5 batteries for your entire life assuming you live to seventy and are twenty now. that's not an issue.
"Collecting rain water is illegal"
land of the free 👏
@chris#0919 when is the government going to do that? Unless you have tenants or abuse your children they have no reason to check.
@Orlunu it's only in a few states in the west.
@dsp fries it or unless you're, say, part of a white sepratist movement they want to crack down on
we'd be lowkey, so no nazi flags or lynching trees. so, (((they))) probably wouldn't know we exsist.
No lynching?
damn
They already know we exist
anyway, I really wouldn't rely on not being found out as the only defence against a federal crackdown
I don't want to be set on fire by the ATF, so I personally won't be going to the compound with the rest of you. Cascade Front is a movement of peace, not violence.
What?
what compound?
what the fuck did you take away from that?
that I wanted a shootout with them?
@Orchid The compound comment was to show how we shouldn't be so keen on fighting the government. I don't wanna be part of
Waco 2 electic boogaloo.
There is nothing violent about our objective
yes, you were very vague. thanks for clearing that up.
Tbh a huge problem we need to think about is how difficult it will be for dozens of us to buy land that is adjacent to eachother. Possibly solution is to have 1 person buy a LARGE area of land then divide it up and sell to individuals in our community. Hurdles to overcome with this method is to make sure that zoning property laws allow this in the location that we purchase land in, we would also need to make sure that each plot of land once sold can have homes legally built on it. We would need to create our own road system on this land as well
This is a highly regionally dependent issue. In many states there are vast amounts of land with little to no zoning regulations applicable.
It comes down to the county and wether or not we are part of a town or an unicorporated village. most county are okay with dividing large acreage up into small plots. the real problem is getting that land zoned in the first place.
would a contract to pool money for the large purchase and then sub-divide it in a pre-agreed manner not be the best of both worlds?
i.e. buy the land as a bloc with each person already having a defined portion
If that's what a group of you want to to, then I would say go for it.
Some will likely want to buy thier own land separate, but close.
most likely
depending on area, though, that could also be part of the same system
the problem is that some members don't want to build a communitiy but rather, move into an exsisting one.
so an initial high-area buy by a group followed by selling on sub-portions when it's further developed
Probably best method
the only problem that that would introduce is if you have too few people/little money for a large enough initial setup
and, tbh, I don't have a clue about that
