No problem other than cost.

2017-10-27 01:44:16 UTC

ok, so it's not that you're against it on principle, you just think that the lower startup cost may warrant the tent version

2017-10-27 01:44:18 UTC

fair enough

2017-10-27 01:45:55 UTC

Yeah, houses are way cheaper if you build them yourself.

2017-10-27 01:47:40 UTC

this is true, but that comes weighed against the startup time and initial group size

2017-10-27 01:47:59 UTC

not that I'm saying either side of that decision is the better one, I have pretty much no info

2017-10-27 01:48:41 UTC

Id rathers be no electro and whatnot to avoid paying taxes

2017-10-27 01:48:55 UTC

No plumbing either

2017-10-27 01:50:05 UTC

I dont plan on having that, only what im legally requires to have

2017-10-27 01:50:23 UTC

I think legally i need a fire detector for a living permit

2017-10-27 01:50:27 UTC

#buildingcodes

2017-10-27 01:50:43 UTC

non-electric fire detectors?

2017-10-27 01:50:44 UTC

dsp, fo you have any sort of experience in building houses and living in tents in general?

2017-10-27 01:51:12 UTC

I was thinking about having the electrical connected to a battery, and not using it or using it suring necessity

2017-10-27 01:51:45 UTC

smoke detectors are battery powered by design

2017-10-27 01:52:02 UTC

the way I see it, is that a few guys move out, clear land and make cabins to live in. they get the site prepped for everybody else. The cabins aren't permenant, but rather a step in the chain of progression. @Orchid yes, I built a deck last year and have some experience working with dry wall and plumbing.

2017-10-27 01:52:11 UTC

so that when the tree that falls through the power line into your house sets it on fire, you might not die

2017-10-27 01:52:44 UTC

Crispy

2017-10-27 01:52:50 UTC

@neetkthx they make wired smoke detecors that are hardwired into your house and therefore never need a new battery.

2017-10-27 01:52:57 UTC

hickory smoked

2017-10-27 01:53:29 UTC

@neetkthx I know, batteries a electrical

anyway, what's the issue with electricity and plumbing w/r/t taxes?

2017-10-27 01:53:59 UTC

they still have a battery backup my friend

2017-10-27 01:54:32 UTC

@chris#0919 you do realize wells can pump water without uncle sam. right?

2017-10-27 01:55:15 UTC

Collecting rain water is illegal

2017-10-27 01:55:26 UTC

And i wasnt talking about wells at all

2017-10-27 01:55:31 UTC

@neetkthx The battery is a non-issuse if you buy the 10 year one.

2017-10-27 01:55:55 UTC

for ten years, that is

2017-10-27 01:56:18 UTC

You just need to buy a new one when the govt wants to check your living

2017-10-27 01:56:47 UTC

but yes, i understand what you're getting at, but a smoke detector that only ran off of current would be dodgy, what with how many house fires are electrical

2017-10-27 01:57:20 UTC

so, you'd need 5 batteries for your entire life assuming you live to seventy and are twenty now. that's not an issue.

2017-10-27 01:58:35 UTC

"Collecting rain water is illegal"
land of the free 👏

2017-10-27 01:58:50 UTC

@chris#0919 when is the government going to do that? Unless you have tenants or abuse your children they have no reason to check.

2017-10-27 01:59:12 UTC

@Orlunu it's only in a few states in the west.

2017-10-27 01:59:23 UTC

@dsp fries it or unless you're, say, part of a white sepratist movement they want to crack down on

2017-10-27 02:00:38 UTC

we'd be lowkey, so no nazi flags or lynching trees. so, (((they))) probably wouldn't know we exsist.

2017-10-27 02:00:57 UTC

No lynching?

2017-10-27 02:00:58 UTC

damn

2017-10-27 02:01:07 UTC

They already know we exist

2017-10-27 02:01:32 UTC

anyway, I really wouldn't rely on not being found out as the only defence against a federal crackdown

2017-10-27 02:04:17 UTC

I don't want to be set on fire by the ATF, so I personally won't be going to the compound with the rest of you. Cascade Front is a movement of peace, not violence.

2017-10-27 02:06:33 UTC

What?
