The truth is that athiesm is the exact opposite, it's the lack of religious identity, not a substitute. It just means that your identity need be generated from other sources, namely your deeds and herritage.

Something similar exists called Christian Identity (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Identity). It's more focused on supremacy rather than preservation though.
