im personally just waiting for this entire house of cards to fall apart, who ever survives gets to pick up the pieces
it would have to be bread lines tier bad to get real change
the world has defied nature with its stagnation for far too long
I won't be surprised if it happens within ten, in all honesty, given this whole world seems to be getting exponentially more and more screwed.
im starting to be more and more surprised it doesnt happen every day
CA is so bad right now.
Yeah.
you mean this earthquake swarm shit?
and the endless hurricanes
and volcano in mexico
im worried about the volcano up here being affected by this pacific plate tantrum
I've been laughing, seeing as it's basically hitting the gross places in the world like power-washers.
what did Jamaica ever do to you mang
Reefers.
_Reefers all over my damn college campus. It's so degenerate. Help me._
Do y'all remember? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs069dndIYk *The 21st of September?*
hi goym
yo
What should the currency situation be at the community? Any thoughts, I will do some research on the nature of legality towards currency.
In a subsistence and agriculturally based community, trade and barter is always an option.
Exchange what you make for what your neighbors make
silver makes more sense then gold because of spot price per ounce. Plus, if we go to oregon there is a chance of us finding silver or gold on the property. https://www.jmbullion.com/silver/silver-rounds/1-oz-silver-rounds/ the nice thing about a currency is that it works as a medium of exchange if you need something but nobody wants your stuff.
Yea, 1/10 oz silver coin is under $3 so it's small enough for every day trades. We might even be able to use copper as it's just $1 per oz
but silver will never be cheaper for us to extract than to just buy
Probably easiest to just make silver coins, each having their own weight
Rather than having to weigh silver every time, or check to see if it's real shit
I've been reading about gold mining in oregon and it looks like people still find surface level gold in riverbeds. http://raregoldnuggets.com/blog/?p=3648 http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2012/04/no_gold_rush_in_oregon_even_wi.html
https://www.jmbullion.com/1-pound-copper-bar/
buying copper should be done in bulk.
I got a gold pan in my garage, I've been wanting to try it out
i can't fucking wait until we get a property to work off of
a couple acres maybe
It is illegal to mint your own currencty so precious metals/ barter would probably have to work.

we could use crypto for minimal export/import keepng us totally off of fiat.
I seriously recommend anyone to read Plato's republic . It has some excellent advice on town building. Plus you can learn where our culture when wrong through its influence as well without being a total reactionary. .
@skyon what about a crypto backed by real world metal reserves? could we make our own bitcoin like currenecy and use it as an in between for community trade?
crypto is a good idea if it ever becomes stable
not bitcoin though. Anybody remember when they used be under $100 a coin?
pepperidge farm remembers
Thanks for the painful reminder lol
yeah you cant use use a currency that could lose 10% of its value right after you sold something for it
