first one of which was talking about glass

2019-11-12 21:47:13 UTC

second of which didn't specify the material

2019-11-12 21:47:31 UTC

`c. Creep. The change in dimension of a material under load over a period of time, not
including the initial instantaneous elastic deformation. The time dependent part of strain
resulting from an applied stress.`

2019-11-12 21:47:40 UTC

we can safely assume that isn't glass though

2019-11-12 21:47:48 UTC

for the fact that glass shatters

2019-11-12 21:48:00 UTC

Where is the link for that source

2019-11-12 21:48:07 UTC

hold on

2019-11-12 21:48:13 UTC

I think I still have that tab open

2019-11-12 21:48:40 UTC

page 2, section 4

2019-11-12 21:49:06 UTC

Of what?

2019-11-12 21:50:05 UTC

the pdf I linked to with the quote above

2019-11-12 21:53:27 UTC

Your moving the goal post and it's driving me nuts

2019-11-12 21:53:38 UTC

which goal post have I moved?

2019-11-12 21:54:28 UTC

I had to prove their was no non linear deformation of the light

2019-11-12 21:54:51 UTC

Now I have to prove that under static stress

2019-11-12 21:55:56 UTC

If the deformation was enough to cause a sigficant and acknowledgable deformation to the light you would have died flying the airplane

2019-11-12 21:56:38 UTC

I wouldn't say that was moving the goal posts tbh. there's the issue of the shape of the windows but additionally there's the stresses involved with the changes of internal air pressure to compensate for the changes to the external air pressure. it's not moving goal posts so much as the fact that there's other factors which need to be included

2019-11-12 21:58:20 UTC

The other factors are negligible

2019-11-12 21:58:32 UTC

And are therefore ignored

2019-11-12 21:58:40 UTC

the document cited mentions the stresses as well as the myriad materials selected for the inclusion within the aircraft. but you do need to show proof of this neglibility

2019-11-12 21:59:11 UTC

If they weren't negligible they would've included them in this beautiful source of you

2019-11-12 21:59:14 UTC

Yours

2019-11-12 21:59:26 UTC

as well as the proof to your claim that it doesn't cause distortion

2019-11-12 22:00:05 UTC

I told you a simple experiment you could peform

2019-11-12 22:00:17 UTC

That is proof

2019-11-12 22:00:44 UTC

it has been said by others, possibly yourself, that curvature has been witnessed through aircraft windows, so, we need to establish whether that's as a result of these windows or as a result of actual earth curvature

2019-11-12 22:01:09 UTC

your simple experiment uses the wrong materials and that wouldn't be very scientific

2019-11-12 22:03:18 UTC

I was debating laws of optics

2019-11-12 22:03:35 UTC

sure, but in any case, you haven't substantiated that

2019-11-12 22:03:58 UTC

nor have you disproved that the curvature witnessed isn't the result of these windows

2019-11-12 22:04:10 UTC

The light going through the window experiences a linear deformation

2019-11-12 22:04:18 UTC

so you keep saying

2019-11-12 22:04:22 UTC

without substantiating

2019-11-12 22:04:45 UTC

You know what a linear transformation deformation is right?

2019-11-12 22:04:53 UTC

Right?

2019-11-12 22:06:56 UTC

Just send all flat earthers to space to prove it once and for all

2019-11-12 22:08:50 UTC

it's where light passes through, it's transformed then deformed and presumably should result in lack of distortion

2019-11-12 22:09:31 UTC

@positivity globe believers are the ones that believe space is real! send them all up there to prove the globe

2019-11-12 22:10:34 UTC

Exactly

2019-11-12 22:11:15 UTC

Therefore

2019-11-12 22:11:20 UTC

No distortion
