It doesn't do that bad of a job explaining it. I have seen the models
it makes a path closer to the north pole in summer and farther away in winter.
ah ok. sounds like you are familiar with it then
Yes, I have tried to look into things before disagreeing with them
However the seasons part I have nothing to agree no disagree on, for It is something that explains the seasons in a way that works.
that's good. the key to being a truth seeker is first humility. never assume you have the answer and second to be open to all ideas and not judge until after investigation
Of course
cool. then sounds like your biggest issue is.....gravity?
Gravity is one of my main ones yes.
ah ok. so...."Gravity" is difficult because we still don't understand it. in fact that was one of my first shockers when I started college
physics prof said "we still don't understand gravity"
I remember like yesterday....was 25yrs ago
we don't truly know what causes things to fall down. mass attracting mass has never been proven
and we can't replicate gravity
nor tune it like we can say with EM
but...
if we assume for a moment that mass attracts mass...it could be exaplanable on a flat earth model
bcs we only can measure/observe that the surface of earth is flat.
no clue what's underneath
and we've only been able to drill about 8 miles
so it's entirely possible that variations in "weight" if ever measured in different locations, could be attributed to different center of mass in that region
we don't truly know what is under the surface
That's a very interesting way to look at things
one could imagine, as a possibly silly example, regions/pockets of high density material scattered throughout the "crust" or "mantle" that causes differential gravitational "force" depending on location
just as a thought expt....
the last key to being a truthseeker is "holding ambiguity"
that is...being comfortable not having solid answers to all the questions.
that can be difficult...esp for scientists
Well, honestly, this more "silly" example still comes closer to explaining things on a flat earth then most hypothesis I have heard. I'll keep it in mind
🙂
I can admit that not holding all the answers can be hard, but I try my best not to fall into that trap
trust me...I have lots of questions that I don't have satisfactory answers to. But give me one year of NASAs budget (circa $20 Billion) and I guarantee I can create an R&D program to answer them...
good for you!!
that's what blocks most people in my experience
you have to be honest and say "I don't know" but I won't let that stop my pursuit
Hey! I gotta say, I'm glad I met you. A lot of times its hard to speak to people with different views because everyone is so quick to call the other person an idiot
I will apologize for the whole "flat earth community". realize it's probably the most trolled topic in history. it's constant attacks. so....folks tend to be on high alert all the time.
Yea.. though I try to push through it. The only way to learn is to challenge what you think you know
Well, for now I apologize but I must get some sleep. I hope to speak to you again at some point.
sleep well my friend. talk to you later hopefully 😉
Nice to see a friendly discussion on here!
