Most old people who lived through communism voted they want to go back though

I’ve read the reasons people give, and it’s mostly superficial things like “we got more vacation time”, and it’s like yeah, but you also had little food and other basic amenities.

Maybe the poll didn't do a good job at distinguishing the geopolitical soviet union with all its might to the economic system

It might be that people thought about the empire and not the economics

I'll need to check the poll questions to verify

a lot of it is also nostalgia for the power the USSR had, but not taking into account the economic and social system.
