I really like the heavy lines they use in DD it fits the tone and makes for really striking artwork

yea, practise is the key. did read an article by one of the painters for GW and he was showing off his first figure he did paint vs the stuff he was doing now

true, thats why i havent been doing original stuff and ive been practicing other styles. you have to experiment and broaden your knowledge through watching people with experience and seeing how you could do things differently. then incorporate that into your work. but that means you have to practice

For example I sucked with eyes. Mainly the iris and pupils but by watching other people do it and practicing myself I came to this point.

A lot of it, for me at least, is finding work arounds to problems
