i like wankel!

2019-05-08 18:45:41 UTC

in theory, just like how i like my communism

My Dad had a RX8. Pain in the bum

2019-05-08 18:53:10 UTC

yeah must be hard to find spare parts. it does pump up decent bhp at lower revs so it's probably more fuel economic. especially if it sits in the garage.

I had to lend him a Yaris cus around town it was bankrupting him

For work, his job was paying him

2019-05-08 19:29:01 UTC

Yaris is a decent car, it's the ford taunus of our times

no it's much better

2019-05-08 20:31:41 UTC

the rotary engines are garbage on fuel and they also drink oil, not as badly as two stroke engines but worse than most leaky old engines

2019-05-08 20:32:13 UTC

they also need to be driven hard quite often to keep them in good shape, the opposite to how you treat most engines

2019-05-08 20:32:32 UTC

and when the apex seals go, it's a real annoying job

2019-05-08 20:33:37 UTC

most mechanics don't know how to deal with rotaries either, so you either get bumped hard for repairs, find an expert that costs a lot anyway or take the car off the road and spend a couple days doing it yourself

2019-05-08 20:34:11 UTC

on the plus side, rotaries are very light, very smooth and sound great

2019-05-08 20:34:38 UTC

but if I had an rx7 I would be a blaspheeming shit and piston engine swap it

2019-05-09 10:50:44 UTC

is that a 190? can my ejection be cancelled?

2019-05-10 23:36:07 UTC

we dont like that you use a car that will not give us Gas taxes so we are going to invent a new tax just for you

2019-05-11 00:01:12 UTC

I mean is that really surprising

2019-05-11 00:01:46 UTC

electric cars are heavy as fuck, how exactly do people expect the roads to be maintained if they're not getting taxed at the pump

2019-05-11 00:41:56 UTC

It sounds ridiculous but maybe it has something to do with the fact that they have a big reliance of rare Earth elements, as well as the fact that there's no proper infrastructure to make sure depleted batteries are properly recycled or disposed of

2019-05-11 14:39:44 UTC

Nah, it's just Illinois wanting more tax dollars @Erwin Rommel

2019-05-11 14:42:56 UTC

sure but there's legit concerns crazy taxman aside

2019-05-11 22:31:07 UTC

2019-05-12 20:28:20 UTC

apparently nobody got away from that one
