what's wrong with not allowing a tenant to evict someone at moment's notice and for no reason?

2019-04-15 17:35:35 UTC

like if someone just walked into my house and told me to fuck off?

2019-04-15 17:35:45 UTC

the government wants to ban *that*?

2019-04-15 17:37:22 UTC

Β―\_(ツ)_/Β―

2019-04-15 17:37:26 UTC

apparently that's what it is

It's means that if you sign a 1 year contract to live in my house

and after 1 year I want it back. Theresa May is protecting you

not the person that owns the fucking building

2019-04-15 17:40:19 UTC

but how?

She's a Commie

2019-04-15 17:40:38 UTC

the government wants to make it illegal to evict someone *for no good reason*

2019-04-15 17:40:45 UTC

the end of the contract is surely a good reason?

2019-04-15 17:40:50 UTC

Nope

even after your contract is over

2019-04-15 17:41:00 UTC

what the fuck

2019-04-15 17:41:03 UTC

how tho

2019-04-15 17:41:09 UTC

IT IS **THE** CONTRACT

you'll need to smear shit on the walls to get evicted

2019-04-15 17:41:20 UTC

wait wait

2019-04-15 17:41:27 UTC

so if I sign the contract to live there for 1 year

2019-04-15 17:41:30 UTC

and after the contract is over

2019-04-15 17:41:36 UTC

and I don't want to leave

2019-04-15 17:41:41 UTC

you can't force me to leave?

2019-04-15 17:41:45 UTC

It's automatically a month-to-month

Seemingly so

2019-04-15 17:41:54 UTC

WTF

<:Commie_ball:466404411535785995>

Is renovation considered a good reason?

2019-04-15 17:42:22 UTC

well

2019-04-15 17:42:29 UTC

if you renovate the house

2019-04-15 17:42:37 UTC

surely you're just doing the tenant's work for him

2019-04-15 17:42:38 UTC

No, because you'd have to find alternative accomdations for the tenant

2019-04-15 17:43:33 UTC

Actually, I'm not sure about that

2019-04-15 17:45:08 UTC

The big example the landlords were giving was repeat delinquency (no payment). They weren't able to evict people under the normal Section 8 as the tenant would pay the arrears and stop paying again, so they'd evict under Section 21, which is now gone. Landlords got fucked.
