I’ll take any sane candidates I can get at this point

2019-05-20 17:40:34 UTC

He wants to repeal and replace things like taxes and welfare

2019-05-20 17:41:03 UTC

the question is if the system needs an evolution or a revolution

2019-05-20 17:41:11 UTC

Revolution

2019-05-20 17:42:10 UTC

i mean, i cant really comment too much since im not living in the us, but to me personally the best solution seems to be in the middle instead of going full european

2019-05-20 17:42:25 UTC

The thing about Yang and Tulsi is that they will at least accept case studies and facts about their policy ideas

2019-05-20 17:42:45 UTC

So they're open to becoming red pilled over time

2019-05-20 17:45:31 UTC

@Fitzydog not really. Hell Yang bases his whole yangbucks off a faulty idea

2019-05-20 17:45:33 UTC

I still think Tulsi is wrong about a lot of stuff, but she definitely comes across as someone who will change their stance based on new information

TULSI TRAIN

2019-05-20 17:46:27 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki Yes, but he's surrounded by people who are pro-UBI

2019-05-20 17:46:28 UTC

Depends on what it is.

2019-05-20 17:46:49 UTC

Tulsi is so mired in intersectionality now

2019-05-20 17:46:54 UTC

Watch his interview on Shapiro

2019-05-20 17:47:31 UTC

@Fitzydog Nd that's fine. He has been spouting it's based on economists of the past, but they weren't about ubi, they were about negative income tax, which we essentially already have

2019-05-20 17:47:38 UTC

I have

2019-05-20 17:47:44 UTC

Oh okay

2019-05-20 17:48:31 UTC

I'm of the opinion that UBI is one of the few options we have to slowly ween a large percentage of our population off of the welfare system

2019-05-20 17:48:42 UTC

πŸ€”

2019-05-20 17:49:05 UTC

It places the responsibility of budgeting onto the individual

2019-05-20 17:49:19 UTC

It's just welfare by another name

2019-05-20 17:49:20 UTC

Which is a huge first step that shouldn't be overlooked

2019-05-20 17:49:27 UTC

Yeah no shit

2019-05-20 17:49:30 UTC

And no matter how he says it wont, it will grow

2019-05-20 17:50:04 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki well your only other choice is to hope for total societal collapse.

So choose wisely

2019-05-20 17:50:19 UTC

Only ubi is worse than current welfare. Least current SHOULD be limited to those who need it

2019-05-20 17:50:53 UTC

Sorry I dont see giving everyone 1k bucks as society saving. I see it as an inflationary tool

2019-05-20 17:51:32 UTC

Because within a year or 2 it will be like that 1k doesnt exist as inflation quickly moves to match

2019-05-20 17:51:44 UTC

automation can make UBI possible, but not now

2019-05-20 17:51:50 UTC

But Yang also shows signs hes against a free market.

2019-05-20 17:52:17 UTC

Fact:

The welfare state WILL COLLAPSE.

It will not last forever, nor for very much longer.

This is a fact.

Do you want it to collapse while a whole bunch of people are dependent upon various programs? Or do you want it to collapse where it's just an extra income check?

2019-05-20 17:52:18 UTC

@woll3 only with a completely controlled market and extreme taxing on businesses

2019-05-20 17:52:50 UTC

Which will be a reality once the time comes, but as said, at this point in time its a thought experiment, not reality

2019-05-20 17:53:15 UTC

People will be dependant on either. And tbh those dependant wholly on welfare wont survive with only yangbucks

2019-05-20 17:53:25 UTC

So it doesnt fix anything

2019-05-20 17:53:58 UTC

And even then, there is absolutely no guarantee that with yang bucks the welfare system will vanish

2019-05-20 17:54:00 UTC

UBI is a soft landing for welfare collapse.

Thats my argument.

2019-05-20 17:54:38 UTC

Yang can say it will. But Congress would make that call, and the DNC wouldn't ever agree to defunding their largest voting block
