@MountainMan Basically, it made it LAW to buy insurance from insurance companies, and insurance companies could not deny service.

So because insurance companies couldn't discriminate based on health, they increased prices for everyone to compensate

Im not saying that systems here are perfect, but if its mandatory it needs to be appropriately prized, either through subvention or the state running its own insurance "company"

Most states have such stringent requirements for the selling of health insurance, that you're basically paying a small difference in cost for the logo on the envelope you get in the mail each month.

There's practically no competition in the market due to state rules from up above

Hell in my state, you are LITERALLY paying for the exact same product from different companies because that's all the insurance companies are, are resellers of the states product

Anyone who tells you that health insurance could be cheaper from the state, has no idea how insurance or health regulations work

so essentially its their own rules outsourced and the problem lies at the top

There's a different form of product however that works better than all of this, but no one likes to talk about

'Health sharing' its called

It's how an insurance company is supposed to work

But they can drop you if you aren't abiding by the health rules, or they can require you to be a part of an organization like a church
