Also I'd argue that Doom was a puzzle game. More violent but a puzzle.

When the door opens and you see 100 demons and wonder how the fuck can I beat all THAT LOT. It's a puzzle

tbh here in Germany

2018-02-28 12:51:32 UTC

A kid just buys something

2018-02-28 12:51:39 UTC

and the parents give zero fucks for what it is

2018-02-28 12:52:01 UTC

Which sometimes ends in them collecting beyblades

2018-02-28 12:52:12 UTC

and other times 5th graders play around with lighters and knives in class

2018-02-28 12:52:20 UTC

cause it's 'kool'

2018-02-28 12:52:30 UTC

To be fair, it's only violent if it has swastikas.

2018-02-28 12:52:47 UTC

And Germany took care of them.

2018-02-28 12:52:58 UTC

DKO is on the money

2018-02-28 12:53:26 UTC

We don't just censor the swastika that's the best part

2018-02-28 12:53:43 UTC

we censor everything that can be remotely confused with a swastika

2018-02-28 12:53:46 UTC

other symbols

2018-02-28 12:53:53 UTC

faces of nazi personalities

2018-02-28 12:54:33 UTC

and even WW1 symbols that were simply reused for propaganda purposes at the time

2018-02-28 12:54:34 UTC

and herrrrrrrrre weeeeeee

2018-02-28 12:54:34 UTC

go

2018-02-28 12:55:29 UTC

From a european standpoint both sides look ridiculous

2018-02-28 12:55:40 UTC

the gun control people have no idea what they're arguing for or why

2018-02-28 12:56:04 UTC

and the pro-gunners go **"WHAT IF WE SUDDENLY LIVE IN ORWELLS NIGHTMARE AND HAVE TO DEFEND US FROM THE STATE"**

God guns so BORING

2018-02-28 13:03:24 UTC

They also want to be able to defend themselves from criminals.

Just go and try and take the guns

2018-02-28 13:04:34 UTC

At least in Germany it's better than in Canada, regarding self defense.

2018-02-28 13:06:06 UTC

According to Joerg Sprave, you can use the least amount if force to end the threat. If it happens to be a gun, that's fine.

2018-02-28 13:07:15 UTC

So if someone enters your home, you can point a gun at the intruder. If the threat doesn't end, you can shoot to kill.

2018-02-28 13:07:38 UTC

you may or may not get in trouble if you shoot to kill immediately

2018-02-28 13:07:52 UTC

because we have a law stating that self-defense shouldn't be excessive

2018-02-28 13:07:58 UTC

but in general yes that's true

2018-02-28 13:08:10 UTC

Which is where the "least amount of force" comes in.

2018-02-28 13:09:05 UTC

In Canada, you're fucked. Even if it was your last resort, you'll face man slaughter charges.

2018-02-28 13:09:27 UTC

Canada is just fucked in general in that regard

2018-02-28 13:09:58 UTC

someone breaks in here I can pick up my bow and threaten to shoot

2018-02-28 13:10:23 UTC

and if he does shit and I panic shot with a bow it's pretty much 99% lethal if it hits

2018-02-28 13:10:52 UTC

I was looking for info on this the other day. It pretty much is "yes, it's illegal to shoot somebody to save your life; but still, better jailed than dead."

2018-02-28 13:11:14 UTC

Funny thing about bows is

2018-02-28 13:11:27 UTC

and yeah it's probably easier to get a gun license than learn to shoot a bow if you doN't like bows

2018-02-28 13:11:38 UTC

but you get pretty much off the hook with a bow
