Was my first thought frankly

2019-04-15 17:53:28 UTC

But its not where they protest, so

2019-04-15 17:53:36 UTC

apparantly it was a construction accident during some restoration work

2019-04-15 17:53:41 UTC

so great job

@Jabba As for the climate stuff, the coastal erosion is political here. For one, we refuse to let the Mississippi River take its natural course of action, and change course into New Orleans. Second, everyone upriver dams it up, preventing free flow of sediment down the river. So as the river washes away soil in the Delta and out to the Gulf, none gets replaced.

This accelerates salt water creep into our wetlands and swamps, which kills everything

2019-04-15 17:58:49 UTC

Loss of plant life accelerates the erosion

2019-04-15 17:59:33 UTC

Looking forward to the salt when Trump wins again in 2020

2019-04-15 17:59:41 UTC

Democrats don't even hide their hatred of Americans

2019-04-15 17:59:52 UTC

Why can't CA fall into the ocean?

2019-04-15 18:00:03 UTC

Loss of these areas exacerbates flooding and allows storms to travel inland without having heat and moisture sapped to weaken them

2019-04-15 18:00:18 UTC

Where's the great earthquake?

2019-04-15 18:00:22 UTC

When you need it

2019-04-15 18:00:43 UTC

Haha we had a huge salt mine in Louisiana

2019-04-15 18:01:21 UTC

A subterranean salt dome was emptied out until it was dangerously close to the surface... which was the bottom of a lake

2019-04-15 18:01:26 UTC

A very big lake

2019-04-15 18:02:24 UTC

An oil drill or something durrowed down in this lake, and because the mine had not accurately updated its recent activity, the drill struck the salt dome

2019-04-15 18:02:39 UTC

Guess what happens to salt when it meets water

2019-04-15 18:03:18 UTC

This enormous mine, which was fully active, starts to fucking melt, and water is gushing in uncontrollably

2019-04-15 18:03:45 UTC

Supports began to collapse and sections sealed off trapping tons of people to drown

2019-04-15 18:04:09 UTC

Meanwhile the lake, a very deep lake, forms a giant fucking whirlpool

2019-04-15 18:04:53 UTC

A popular fishing and freshwater sports location, tons of boats were getting sucked into this literal hole in the water, filling up with ships

2019-04-15 18:05:11 UTC

There was some video and it looked like armageddon type shit

2019-04-15 18:06:02 UTC

We found the perpetuator of the fire

The lake actually emptied into the Gulf of Mexico, so the sudden loss of water reversed flow, the Gulf flooded into the region destroying homes

2019-04-15 18:15:21 UTC

Western civilization is literally burning to the ground

Paris is gone

2019-04-15 18:24:36 UTC

@Capitán Alatriste accident or premeditated?

2019-04-15 18:24:48 UTC

It was most probably an accident

2019-04-15 18:24:58 UTC

it is being linked with the restauration process

All it takes is a knocked over work light
