A ball drops straight down with a musket, while with rifles its tight

2019-10-18 04:41:53 UTC

So ramming the round takes a bit longer

2019-10-18 04:42:01 UTC

It's tight in both tard

2019-10-18 04:42:10 UTC

Alot tighter with the rifle

2019-10-18 04:42:15 UTC

I've shot muskets

2019-10-18 04:42:21 UTC

I own a muzzleloader

2019-10-18 04:42:22 UTC

A rifleman can load and fire 3 shots a minute

2019-10-18 04:42:25 UTC

Same

2019-10-18 04:42:31 UTC

Learn your shit

2019-10-18 04:42:56 UTC

You've probably never shot a flintlock

2019-10-18 04:43:05 UTC

Brown bess muskets were 3 RPM

2019-10-18 04:43:14 UTC

IF you were a highly experienced rifleman

2019-10-18 04:43:19 UTC

Rifling has existed since the 1500s btw

2019-10-18 04:43:34 UTC

But did the british infantry adopt it? 🤔

2019-10-18 04:43:42 UTC

I'm a muzzloading range instructor and pre 1840s living history reenactor. @Duke of Mecklenburg

2019-10-18 04:43:42 UTC

In the 1770s at least

Muh person who isnt talking out his poop slot

2019-10-18 04:44:50 UTC

The minie ball was what made rifling worthwhile

2019-10-18 04:45:25 UTC

And was when rifled muzzleloaders became common infantry guns, and not just for skirmishers/light infantry

2019-10-18 04:46:46 UTC

I've always found it easier loading in a smooth bore vs. Rifled muzzleloaders...btw

2019-10-18 04:47:02 UTC

Also rifling was expensive until machining got good enough

2019-10-18 04:47:06 UTC

The reason the brits did not have rifles, is because they were more difficult to manufacture in bulk, and had to be issued uniformly.

Americans prided their guns like they do trucks these days. They were a status symbol that were heavily invested in and custom made to order

2019-10-18 04:47:10 UTC

In the early mid 1800s

2019-10-18 04:47:26 UTC

Well...we both basically said the same thing

2019-10-18 04:47:54 UTC

Industry and minie balls made rifles finally practical

2019-10-18 04:49:45 UTC

Btw...Armies in the world in 1775 in order
1.Prussia
2. France
3. Russia
4. Austria
5. Britian

2019-10-18 05:03:29 UTC

According to whom? 😡

2019-10-18 05:03:43 UTC

I dont see the russian empire conquering 73% of the earth's surface

2019-10-18 05:04:04 UTC

What would "The sun never sets on the russian empire" be?

2019-10-18 05:04:12 UTC

Think it could fit on a seal? I dont

2019-10-18 05:11:42 UTC

That has nothing to do with army strength

2019-10-18 05:11:56 UTC

That was mostly about naval supremacy

2019-10-18 05:12:12 UTC

Against the other europeans

2019-10-18 05:12:26 UTC

The colonization part was never done by a large army

2019-10-18 05:12:35 UTC

But small fractions of a force

2019-10-18 05:12:43 UTC

Using technological superiority

2019-10-18 05:13:33 UTC

||so Batman is like 30 years younger than the joker?|| - joker

2019-10-18 05:13:38 UTC

Fucking Bavaria couldve owned half the world if it was given the naval force to keep the other Europeans off its ass

2019-10-18 05:17:40 UTC

But did they? <:kek:590371888480387073>
