The claim is they're worried about the trial being tainted, whereas there was apparently no such concern for Dankula. I suspect having to declare a mistrial because of jury preconceptions was something they didn't want. However, on a non-legal level, they probably were trying to avoid publication of the details to avoid pissing people off more
