NOOOOO

2018-06-08 16:07:13 UTC

*this*

2018-06-08 16:07:20 UTC

was in my youtube ad section for days

2018-06-08 16:07:32 UTC

after I visited the website to see if the meme picture I saw was true

2018-06-08 16:07:38 UTC

wait a minute

2018-06-08 16:07:38 UTC

that's hilarious, but it'd be funnier if you don't have a dog

2018-06-08 16:07:39 UTC

ahhhhhhh shit

2018-06-08 16:07:59 UTC

it's ok if you turn the toy around

2018-06-08 16:08:06 UTC

then it's manji 卍

2018-06-08 16:08:39 UTC

Are Debian packages still quite old?

2018-06-08 16:09:05 UTC

? you mean the format?

2018-06-08 16:09:11 UTC

the deb format has been updated over the years

2018-06-08 16:09:19 UTC

No, kernel for example.

2018-06-08 16:09:35 UTC

.... or software in general.

2018-06-08 16:09:43 UTC

linux is pretty old now

2018-06-08 16:09:48 UTC

I started out with SlackWare

2018-06-08 16:10:04 UTC

then RedHat, then Debian

2018-06-08 16:10:28 UTC

so Debian was probably a few years into using Linux and I've stuck with it ever since

2018-06-08 16:10:49 UTC

Yes, I mean, if you install the latest packaged kernel you are far behind, because Debian favours running system over fast changes.

2018-06-08 16:11:18 UTC

right, but you can use Debian derivatives like Ubuntu and they keep pretty up to date

2018-06-08 16:11:32 UTC

a lot of Debian packages are basically backported from Ubuntu now

2018-06-08 16:11:39 UTC

ok.

2018-06-08 16:12:07 UTC

Debian itself is pretty solid and easy to deal with, very portable too because it doesn't have the "bloat" you get with Ubuntu

2018-06-08 16:12:27 UTC

but generally I'm running Ubuntu on my desktops/notebooks, servers are a mix

2018-06-08 16:14:10 UTC

I was actually the other way araound for me, I started with Ubuntu, then I a made a tour of distros and then I stuck with Fedora/Red Hat.

2018-06-08 16:14:37 UTC

I left because of Unity.

2018-06-08 16:14:44 UTC

Fedora/Red Hat are pretty solid in general - I can't stand CentOS though

2018-06-08 16:15:20 UTC

It is a playground distro for Red Hat, but it still works fine for me.

2018-06-08 16:15:34 UTC

I never used Unity, been a GNOME user since it first became usable. Was KDE before that and bascially whatever would run before that

2018-06-08 16:15:48 UTC

Yeah.

2018-06-08 16:15:54 UTC

every time I've used CentOS I've had weird issues

2018-06-08 16:16:00 UTC

I was a Gnome Bug fixer for a short time.

2018-06-08 16:16:09 UTC

oh! nice

2018-06-08 16:23:26 UTC

@Ƶero dont mind krimskrams, he’s an asshole

2018-06-08 16:23:36 UTC

And an OS snob

2018-06-08 16:25:18 UTC

@INNØS who the fuck is this otter guy?

2018-06-08 16:25:54 UTC

The "Debian is worse than Windows" was not meant to be serious ^^
