I had a yellow belt in taekwando

2018-07-24 17:31:05 UTC

`b o d a c i o u s`

2018-07-24 17:31:12 UTC

I learnt it in Army school

2018-07-24 17:31:13 UTC

No actually it was orange

2018-07-24 17:31:16 UTC

I attended 2 classes

2018-07-24 17:31:16 UTC

Not rad

2018-07-24 17:31:17 UTC

😄

2018-07-24 17:31:19 UTC

From actual soldiers

2018-07-24 17:31:28 UTC

was it a rad orange belt tho?

2018-07-24 17:31:31 UTC

Not karate "masters"

2018-07-24 17:31:38 UTC

I learned some Krav Maga in the military

2018-07-24 17:31:43 UTC

From actual soliders

2018-07-24 17:31:50 UTC

Was still mostly a joke

2018-07-24 17:32:04 UTC

I'm not familiar with krav maga

2018-07-24 17:32:13 UTC

look it up

2018-07-24 17:32:29 UTC

It's what they teach you in the IDF

2018-07-24 17:32:30 UTC

it's the one thing jews did right

2018-07-24 17:33:20 UTC

Honestly from what I know about not sure if you can really consider it a martial art

2018-07-24 17:33:25 UTC

2018-07-24 17:34:18 UTC

@Baraban forget all that "peace of mind" bs

2018-07-24 17:34:25 UTC

it's just how to fight

2018-07-24 17:34:26 UTC

it was made after ww2 to defend themself in unarmed combat. and it was made to dusable the oponet to a point where he was in no shape to get back up in a shot amount of time and all dirty tricks in the book was ok

2018-07-24 17:34:38 UTC

@Mips I guess

2018-07-24 17:34:57 UTC

They just thought me how to hit someone in the face with an M16

2018-07-24 17:35:01 UTC

@Baraban I'm guessing that's where you're coming from

2018-07-24 17:35:10 UTC

oh lawd

2018-07-24 17:35:11 UTC

no

2018-07-24 17:35:14 UTC

it's alot more

2018-07-24 17:35:28 UTC

the IDF teaches and uses it in combat

2018-07-24 17:35:38 UTC

and it has proven to be pretty effective

2018-07-24 17:35:58 UTC

I know, I barely had any Krav Maga in my training, but I still don't think it's really like a marital art

2018-07-24 17:36:04 UTC

It's not like Karate

2018-07-24 17:36:15 UTC

calling it an evolving combat style is more right I think

2018-07-24 17:36:29 UTC

They don't teach you how to beat someone in the ring

2018-07-24 17:36:30 UTC

It's a hand to hand combat technique. semantics at this stage

2018-07-24 17:37:07 UTC

or an 'unarmed combat.. something'

2018-07-24 17:37:13 UTC

there's a very British word that I'm forgetting

2018-07-24 17:37:17 UTC

but it would fit perfectly

2018-07-24 17:37:50 UTC

It literaly means "touch fight". Though a better translation would probably be just "hand to hand combat"

2018-07-24 17:38:06 UTC

but then martial arts are failed oldschool combat styles
